I detest football but I have four sons who are really into it so occasionally I watch a game in the World Cup but honestly I always wonder what the attraction is of watching men on a field kicking a ball. It seems so tedious.

I assumed it would be Hammond, not based on the story itself, but more on the fact that the two others on his team are both comedians that are great at improv. If Hammond had to make up his own story, he runs a far higher risk of it not being funny and thus letting the shown down a bit, so it makes sense for his to be the real one and for Sean and David to make up funny stories.

Brit here who can't stand football, bunch of lightweights chasing a bag of air round a field pretending to be hurt every couple minutes is not for me thanks. My dad took me to a match once, never been so bored in my life, funnily enough he also took my son once too, who came home and pleaded with us not to let him take him ever again lol
