Peg in my all time Top 25..Steely Dan never misses
Ответитьdont forget about scunk baker lead guitar player
ОтветитьChuck Rainey's bass is next level. He plays it straight but slaps in the chorus. I'm pretty sure he used flat wound strings, but each note is crystal clear and rhythmic.
ОтветитьNow do 'New frontier' by Donald Fagan.
ОтветитьThe flavor is something I’ve kept with me for years.
ОтветитьJust make it your lifes mission to get the album on vinyl ....please !! ..... yes....i have it.
ОтветитьThe story of Aja is on video, a must watch .
ОтветитьNext track from the album Aja has to be .... Black Cow
ОтветитьJAZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ОтветитьThats one tight sophisticated groove. Masters.
ОтветитьYou said it! Steely Dan is just not only Rock&Roll…they have funk, soul and jazz mixed in their music…not just rock. Thank you 🙏🏼
ОтветитьThe bass line in this........ omg.
ОтветитьRick Marotta's drum shuffles hold this all together in a most tasty way.
ОтветитьSo on Point Amber about the different genres, nothing better than listening to Steely Dan and getting ready to go out on a Friday night. Great reaction guys ♥️👍🏼👍🏼
Ответить74 year old black Vietnam veteran. Jack of speed, Deacon Blue, and Babylon sister.
Ответитьbig debut
ОтветитьTry these songs from the album Aja: Aja (the song), Black Cow & Deacon Blues.
ОтветитьRick Marotta laying down the groove perfectly.
ОтветитьBy commercial I mean singles played on radio from an album. For Steely Dan often they were not their best songs. Their albums contained numerous songs in my opinion that were better than the singles released by the record companies. If a person didn't purchase their album, they wouldn't be aware of all the other music Steely Dan created.
That's what this couple was doing. Reacting to the songs played on radio from Steely Dan.
Little Feat
ОтветитьJoe Public sampled some of it for their incredible song "You Got To Live and Learn"
ОтветитьThe bass line by the great Chuck Rainey makes this track drive
ОтветитьTHEY ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! MUSICAL GENIUS!
ОтветитьThat's the Purdie Shuffle on drums y'all! (Bernard Purdie). You can bottle that groove up n sell it!
ОтветитьNew York guys with an LA sound. Thats something you don't hear everyday. 🙂
ОтветитьThis definitely makes me think about my dad he got me into Steely Dan , America , CSN , Boston etc miss you man RIP
ОтветитьGreen Earrings. Great funk tune. You must react to this one
ОтветитьI love this song, hell, I ❤ Steely Dan.
ОтветитьThe beat and smooth delivery suggest a jazz influence.
ОтветитьI found it really hard to believe this is their first time hearing this song. Just sayin.
ОтветитьLmaoooo reading more comments about Michael McDonald on backup vocals than about Steely Dan.
ОтветитьMy Old School is my favorite song of theirs
ОтветитьDancing in your chair after 12 seconds… that’s about right.
ОтветитьMichael McDonald made into an out of this worid Michael chorus!
Ответить👍
Ответитьlove it....
Ответитьdefinitely check out Black Cow you’ll thank me later
ОтветитьLove you guys ❤️
Ответитьrob squad- now yall are listening to greatness with steely dan, they have a big volume of hits, they are not just a rock band, they are a crossover/hybrid style, you couldn't escape them on the radio, they were all over different genre radio stations growing up in the 70's and very early 80's. steely dan is a perfectionist professional class act band, they were always rolling in different musical artist to the studio to perfect the "right" part of a song. the band was mostly fagen and becker, with always a carousel of artists for different songs per album. becker passed some years ago but fagen is still here. rip becker.😀👍
Ответитьyes, that is michael mcdonald. don henley auditioned for the part, but steely dan fired him, and eventually chose michael.
ОтветитьI love people hearing this for the first time and just absolutely vibing out. What an incredible record.
ОтветитьHave you heard 'Green Earrings' yet?
ОтветитьOne of fav songs
Ответитьis this Yacht rock
ОтветитьDe La Soul brought me here back in 89'.
Yes, Eye Know...
Y'all catching a very young Michael McDonald singing and playing on this track? Jeff Pocaro called him up amd had him come down immediately, set up, and play on this track. His first big break....😎
ОтветитьDeacon Blues is a great one. And Aja
