What a sweet find! Old girl just wants to get back to work.
ОтветитьCool❤
ОтветитьYou got this I like your love for old school
ОтветитьYou need a thermal camera. Reach out to some manufacturers to sponsor one. It coulld really help you debug what is going on, rather than a hand on the exhaust manifold.
Ответитьlooks nice! Good job!
ОтветитьGreat Job
ОтветитьMy first truck was a 1973 GMC Astro Cabover with the 8v71 blower equipped.
ОтветитьShe's a real beauty!
ОтветитьSounds beautiful!!
Ответить" i need somebody to spritz it while i crank it "
Ответитьgot to plug her in man put a radiator in
Ответитьso what was it the fuel pressure was bad because of what exactly ?
ОтветитьLove it. My dad always ran 8v92’s. We had a pretty good hill coming coming up to the house. Never forget how excited I was to hear that Detroit. Dads Home!!!
Ответить671 was the best out of all Detroits engines, I preferred it over the 8 and v12.
ОтветитьSoak a red rag in either place in intake start the truck no needfor spray can operator do this often in warm montana
ОтветитьThat fuel filter has probably never been changed since it’s still color matched to the frame but idk I find it hard to believe the truck hasn’t had fuel filter until now
ОтветитьYou got that right ,canisters suck ! Spin ons 100 %
ОтветитьWhat a GREAT Old 359.. Big love for the 12 V series..
ОтветитьLooks good too! Don't paint it as those old skool stripes would be hard to replicate.
ОтветитьSweet rig. I wish she was a TRI-DRIVE.😊
ОтветитьIf you are low on coolant does running the water pump dry not hurt the seals. I am mainly a small engine guy with some diesel experience on VW engines. Am glad you got it going and managed to free the fuel injectors.
ОтветитьThis is a great video! Keep up the old vehicles!!!
ОтветитьPeople really need to stop calling Detroit diesels Jimmy's or GM diesels Jessica's General Motors owns Detroit Diesel does not make that motor a General Motors engine and Detroit Diesel isn't even owned by General Motors anymore are you going to call Allison automatics GM automatics cuz General Motors owns Allison Transmissions too they were only called Jimmy's when they were the 671 in the city transit buses because GM built Citi transit buses back in the 60s the 6392 the 871 the 892 the 12v 71 the 16 V 71 are not GM Diesels or they would say GMD still on the valve cover not Detroit Diesel that's like calling a Lincoln a Ford yeah it might be owned by Ford and has a Ford engine but that doesn't make it a Ford vehicle are you going to call an old school Pontiac or an old school Buick a Chevy because General Motors owns them
ОтветитьI gotta admit when it fired up, I got a little chubby😂
ОтветитьWasn't anything on exhaust heat wrong. The 2 strokes move MASSIVE air thru the cylinders. Anytime one sits over 2 years it should have fresh fuel filters. You could tell by the way it ran there was NOTHING wrong with it. And ALWAYS go backwards to break brakes free
ОтветитьI have no idea what is happening in this video. Know nothing about a diesel, but, that truck cranking up made me a little excited. I ain't gonna lie. 😂
ОтветитьI am a longtime member of the team 12. V 71 and have the loss of hearing to prove it ❤❤😂
ОтветитьMAN who doesn't love the sound of a buzzin duzzin ❤👍😄
ОтветитьWhat an Awesome truck. I Love hearing a V12 run. You are a magician sir. I'm a new subscriber, I Love your channel. Old School is where it's at. Really don't like the new stuff. I have a 1997 T800 Kenworth with a DDECC III. I live in Pa and work in the ND Oil Fields. "American Oil on American Soil " I admire your skill with these trucks, it is very hard to get anything done here in ND without mortgaging your house . PS : your Detoit Diesel tatoo is priceless.
Mark
ACME Radiator in Watervliet will fix you right up.
ОтветитьThat old truck runs nice clean fuel is a must in old diesels
ОтветитьWhy are you spraying it like that, just hold it down
ОтветитьJust spray something flammable into the intake while it's running, see if the other bank starts firing
ОтветитьHey man, discovered your channel, really am starting to enjoy it as I have some (years ago) experience with Detroits. Question: what camera / headgear are you using to shoot? Great video presentation POV🙂
ОтветитьWouldn't be better to do a fix during the day, with day light? Just saying... furst time viewer btw.
ОтветитьMint 👌🏻
ОтветитьI'm having a difficult time believing any Mechanic worth his scrotum doesn't own a hand held remote start button .. so he can spray and squeeze at the same time.. Hey Bro are you Italian Or Polish ? Or a mix of both in which case I'm shocked your out the house with your boots on correctly ...we got a name for guys who grow up with bad mechanic habits . They call em Butchers . They NEVER make anything look better they do whatever is necessary to get them to move forward then either run em just like that but always in a downward trajectory .
ОтветитьIt was good to see that you figured it out and ended up being something minor as opposed to major work. People tend to over analyze things and forget the basics. Not bashing you or anything as I have done it myself more than once.
ОтветитьThis is so cringe to watch, please stop working on things you know nothing about
ОтветитьWhy not replace all filters and oil before even starting it
ОтветитьKeep up the good work man 😊
ОтветитьI used to have to tune up V 12 149 Detroit marine engines and getting the fuel rack set up perfect was difficult and made a difference with fuel delivery we used infrared temp sensor to test exhaust temp on each cylinder
ОтветитьHard to watch. Terrible editing. Too bad!
ОтветитьGood lookin truck
Ответитьlol wenn wieder einmal die Übersetzung des Titels und der Beschreibung vollkommen in die Hose geht...
ОтветитьI know what's wrong with it.
Ain't got no gas in it. 😅
You are a good wrench. Outstanding job young man.
ОтветитьI just want you to know that someone caught the trailer park boys reference. "Greasy julian"
