Deep Craft -- Episode 2: The Modern Maker Podcast

In this episode we go into detail about hip rolls in men's clothing. Specifically as it relates to the Moroni Trunkhose project that is currently being made. It is fascinating to realize that in this context, the hip roll was actually attached to the doublet and not a separate roll, as we use for Womenswear. We go over a couple of fantastic photographs of an Extant doublet with attached hip roll and figure out how it is made, debate some of the finer details and in the end...we shot too much video for one podcast. We will do a separate video to go over the comparisons between the Moroni Trunkhose and an extant pair of pluderhosen. They're not as different as you might think!
