Is there any reason to buy this BM6k over a Sony A73 which is full frame.

How are those framerates a big improvement? Doesn't the 4k offer all of the same ones but in a lower resolution?

It looks like a great camera. However, I think we're being hyped by specs to keep on purchasing new "stuff." Many buyers in some parts of the world, still haven't received their Pocket 4k.
We often forget that paying for the camera is only round one. Then follows suitable media and rigs, etc, etc.
These days, one has to carefully assess one's needs and purchase accordingly. It's hard, I know...but the alternative is the "poor house."

A total joke, BMD should at least have filled all backorders before releasing this. Who even cares about 6k when BRAW is such a bad codec. Look at the speeds people like 120mb/s that’s not raw. iPhones can record 200mb/s BMD really needs to work on updating BRAW.

6K nowadays is useful for cropping the image in post. We usually shoot at 4K but edited in 2,5K since most of the cinema projector is use 2,5K resolution. And when it needs to playback in 4K like we found at Netflix, the final video will upscaled using a software to 4K resolution.

sometimes we do dolly close up to subject using cropping the image. it's to avoid missing the focus with non parafocal lens when we do a dolly close up movement. Imagine when the actor do a great acting but the shoots ruined by bad camera movement.

Its surely for technical limitations, but it is strange that in 6k you get the TV aspect ration of16:9 only in 50p, while the more cinematic 17:9 in 60p. I feel like it should be the other way around. Oh well... You will always downsample to 4k anyway.

I think MFT might have a resolution ceiling at around 5k before you start strechting your pixels too thin. With that said, I still think it's the best format for low budget and indie. At that price point, the people who buy this likely won't be able to afford the cost of media and post production that 6K RAW requires. With MFT you get a smaller body and lenses, tons of great native glass, and the best thing about it: the possibility to adapt almost any lens to it. I'd rather have a proper MFT cinema camera (internal NDs, great form factor, faster processing, higher frame rates,etc.) than a bigger sensor with the same shortcomings of the bmpcc4k

Only bad thing is B-raw. Its inferior to .dng. dont upgrade your 4k people.

Meanwhile, you can see this glorious 6k footage in your local... Nevermind. Many theaters still rockin' the 2k projectors.

Wait....maybe I am misstaking...but...if the rumored specs of the canon 90D are true.....4K no crop tiltscreen 30 fps4K.... 120 fps HD....and ofcourse its core business....10 fps ....still shooting ...price around 1500 euro.....for me that would be a much better deal than 2 extra K with crop and bigger price tag.....but maybe i am misstaking......

I wish the took the route of kinefinity. Make the mount their proprietary and give us option to use various adapter made by them.

I already ordered this camera from CVP... and it’s still not in the stock! I called CVP and they said that they don’t know when they will have the camera in stock and they don’t have any information about this! That’s very weird... i pay the preorder and i don’t have any information about the product.

Wait Megabytes??? Not Megabits. At that rate you only get 53 minutes on a 1TB SSD or CFast. Holy s**t I always thought it was Megabits
