Interesting point in 44th minute. It's not just about being quiet, it's also about exploiting others less. China knew in early 2000's if they want ASEAN to grow and become a customer of Chinese goods, they couldn't just steal the resources from ASEAN. They had to pay them fair market value. In return those countries in ASEAN would get some money. Over time, more money, eventually enough money that they can import LOT'S of stuff from China. This is coherent strategy. Washington DC needs to learn to pay developing nations the market value for their goods. If Washington DC keep stealing resources, then those developing countries can't buy anything.

What Trump is asking is right and reasonable, fix the borders ! Don't be so arrogant Trudeau, and talk stupidly with no common sense !! Get off your high horse, humble yourself, and comply with that Trump is asking. By so doing Canada can be spared these Tariffs. Wisdom would work WITH Trump, not stupidly try to fight him.

I haven't seen any positive prediction of the effect of the tariffs. If we isolate China for the effect, I think the US will go broke first while China keeps expanding its market somewhere else. Trump is overestimating the US market power due to his lack of intelligence. Just listen to what he says, it is so infantile. A speech for innocent kids, but funnily, the Congress applauded.

Trump not just fails to see that there will be retaliations, but also, he fails to see that there are other places the foes can expand their market to. The US is not the only one, the world is big.

I believe Trump's motive is to attack China rather than reviving the US's manufacturing. War against China is his main focus. Before manufacturing could come back, the imports will shift to other Asian countries first, until exhausted. That doesn't solve the local manufacturing problem but helping to develop the whole Asian region. Again, China is the one which will develop all of them.

Firstly, India charge any country the same. But you can set set up factory there. Ford had a factory there but sold out due to uncompetitive.

India use right hand steering which means most of US passenger car are off. For truck, TATA is dirt cheap and they have highest market share both pick up and commercial truck.

Thirdly, due to road conditions and people income, majorly of passenger car are super compact size like 1.0L or 1.2L which Americans car are out. Suzuki JV is the best seller.

All for all, India car maker is not for Americans car. Even Tesla. 90% of India can’t afford Tesla price nor charging facilities. Not to discriminate but to give audience a picture. You're forgetting the fact that Walmart has started an Amazon FBA style system also where private businesses buy and own the stock and Walmart takes a Fullment fee, which negates the whole argument. I'm from Sydney, Australia and selling on both platforms 90% of good buying from China anyways. The tariff is on the wholesale purchased price not what you're selling it for, so 10% or even 100% is not as much as you think. Those Stanley bottles cost around 45-70cents wholesale that's what the tariff will be charged on them, a large company like Stanley paying much less. There selling for how much in the US $20USD+ I'm not sure but for a lot more than $1.40USD.
