Why did you have to bring in that emotional music for Oudinot at the end of his assessment...."since I shall not serve you sir, I will serve no one" qué the tears streaming down my face....
Oudinot is a legend.
Terron in war.if you want Peace you have the win the war.
ОтветитьWhat is the origin of General Murat? The name Murat is used a lot in Turks, my name is Murat.
Ответитьevery Napoleon Marshal: died while serving as Governor of Les Invalides
ОтветитьThank you so much for this very interesting and educating series !!!
ОтветитьOudinot was so loved by many even the bullets want to get close to him
ОтветитьAnnoyed by Oudinot's attitude at the Battle of Polotsk on the 16th, Gouvion St. Cyr refused to run the battle for Oudinot. Whenever Oudinot would ask him for advice, he would reply simply, "Napoleon made you the marshal. Who am I, a mere general, to advise you?"4 That evening, both Oudinot and Gouvion St. Cyr were wounded, but Oudinot was wounded badly enough to be forced to leave the field and therefore he turned command over to Gouvion St. Cyr. Despite his wounds and the fact that Oudinot considered the battle to be lost, Gouvion St. Cyr led the French to a brilliant victory the next day. In recognition of this victory, Napoleon rewarded him with a marshal's baton.
ОтветитьVive l empereur
Ответить@epichistorytv please can you tell me how this seniority is counted is it from military experience or age . only for know 😊😊😊.
ОтветитьOudinou must be related to Rasputin.
ОтветитьMurat looks like Stallone.
ОтветитьNapoleon: "Let's play pin the tail on the donkey, Oudinot?"
Oudinot: "Oh Boney, I already have enough pins for a lifetime. 😂😂
Murat's nickname the "Dandy king" dashing, flamboyance and no doubt brave, but didn't deserve to be executed, exiled at the most.
But the fact Murat tried to eclipse Marshal Bernadotte by negotiating with the Allies to keep his throne in Naples and failed is my opinion down to three reasons.
1. Bernadotte had been offered the position of Crown Prince of Sweden in 1810 by Swedish politicians. As a result, in both camps, Bernadotte had strong legitimacy as Sweden's rightful monarch. Whereas Murat was given the throne of Naples by Napoleon in 1808 by force.
2. Bernadotte defended his adopted nation's interests vigorously, such as negotiating peace treaties between the Allies and agreeing to swap Finland, which Sweden lost to Russia in exchange for Norway and negotiating favorable terms for a union with Norway. Murat never rigorously defended Naples's interests, such as his half-hearted approach to the sixth coalition and being a turncoat in order to save his throne above all.
3. Bernadotte treatment of his enemies and his appeal to old Allies e.g. the Saxons in October 1813 to join the Allies was based on their past experiences and Bernadotte's fair treatment unlike Murat's proclamation to the Italian people in 1815 concerning Italian independence which to most Italians was more like Murat asking them to defend his throne not Italian independence.
Oorah Murat.
ОтветитьThank you for all your work! Joachim Murat, and many other marshals, have become new idols to me! I've decided to one day go on a pilgrimage and visit the graves of these brave warriors!
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьLaurent Gouvion Saint-Syr, grande Marechal Joaquim Murat..
ОтветитьIt sounds weird, but Murat is kinda my “favorite” of Napoleon’s marshalls. He betrayed Napoleon, but him acting like some classic cartoon hero who cares way too much about his looks, and also being the daring, flamboyant cavalry commander just makes him cool as hell😂.
ОтветитьMarshal Murat must be between three the best French marshals and military commanders ever - along with Ney and Davout.
And marshal Victor does not deserve to be in the list at all, because he was a complete piece of shit - he was among those contemptible scoundrels in the French Senate (House of Peres), who on 6 December 1815 voted for the execution of Marshal Ney.
Murat had swag
ОтветитьDo a list like this with the coalition commanders😮
ОтветитьGreat video thank you
ОтветитьMurat: It is one thing to die and another to die looking fabulous.
ОтветитьThe French lost really based on the emperors arrogance. The march into Russia, and then underestimation of Waterloo.
ОтветитьMurat
ОтветитьIncomplete... On Murat .. poor... Anglo saxon version...
Of course! 😏😁
= 6/10 .. not more, sorry
Legend says it that Murat never fired at the enemy once. He would literally just charge and fire in the air.
ОтветитьOudinot, Ney, Soult, Suchet and Davout are, from my perspective, Top 5 Napoleon's best Marshals!
Ответить❤
Ответитьgreat video! well done team.
ОтветитьOudinot is more like a Terminator than a human. Total respect to him.
Ответить“Napoleon’s heavy handed meddling in Spanish affairs , triggered a ferocious backlash”
Professional writing
Murat rocked
ОтветитьSo Fun Story, I was skimming through the list of candidates for my exams to find my candidate number and I noticed that one of my classmates surname was "Murat", I looked into the family tree and found out that he (Joachim Murat) did in fact have children. So I asked her if she knew that she had such a cool name associated with one of the most famous cavalry commanders in history, she straight up said "Yes I already knew" and that her Great (5x) Grandmother is actually 'Marie Letizia Murat', one of Joachim Murat's children. My mind was blown the day before a History exam.
ОтветитьThis Marshal is a diehard ... More than 30 wounds ...😮😮😮
Ответитьpeople be sleeping on how badass saint cyr's story is lol
ОтветитьSaint-Cyr has the hardest-going painting ngl
ОтветитьOudinout: TIS BUT A FLESH WOUND
ОтветитьOorah! Murat!
Ответить"[The Cossacks had] almost magical respect for him.... I was riding ahead with three troopers when I saw Murat at the far end of a little wood ... He was alone. In front of him ... some 40 mounted Cossacks were gazing at him, leaning on their lances." - Victor Dupuy
ОтветитьI think August Marmont, Duke of Ragusa was a marshal too. Later defected to Louis XVIII, spawning the French nickname "raguser" for betrayal. When Charles X was leaving France in 1830, his son Louis XIX asked him "will you betray us, like you betrayed him?", but this time he also went into exile so he didn't.
Ответить😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 Murat es para mi,el mejor general de caballeria de la historia militar
ОтветитьMurat , all balls and no brains
