World War II U.S. Marine Gunner Johnson. He was on Iwo Jima when the Marines raised the U. S. flag.

This is a raw interview with Gunner Johnson. Johnson joined the Marines in the middle of his senior year of high school. He was on Iwo Jima when the Marines raised the U. S. Flag and injured two weeks later, 3 days before his 19th birthday. It was an honor to interview Gunner, who was 86 at the time of our interview after the Oklahoma Honor Flight on May 4th, 2012 when I was a KSWO reporter. This proud Marine and wonderful man has since passed but I will always remember him fondly.
