I wonder, why Dr.Mike is saying, that there are no proven benefits. Maybe the studies done so far are these preliminary results on 10 - 20 particioants. Just to quote a study, you mention in your source links:

...most studies were hampered by the fact that they were carried out in small groups, often of one gender and with differences in exposure temperature and salt composition of the water...

So there might be not good studies enough for doctors, like Dr. Mike, to get a clear evidence.
