I mean, I literally found this channel because of a video about the Switch 2 so it would be weird to all of a sudden back away from that topic when everyone is actually hungry for MORE information. That's not to say that you can't talk about anything else that's relevant to Nintendo that comes out but Switch 2 has got to be the priority as if you don't cover it then 20 other people will and they may or may not do as good of a job talking about it. Hell, I even saw a video today where RGT85 himself gave you credit for how well you covered the Dring dude's comments which echoed how I felt watching that video as context is everything when taking into consideration how valuable someone's information could be.

We need at least 5 Switch 2 videos a day until it releases

When I heard it would have a magnetic connection I always assumed it would still use the rails and use magnets as a more supplemental locking backup in addition to the nub, which is prone to wear and tear. It is entirely possible the rail connection/nub will still allow for original joycon to still connect to a Switch 2, albeit with a slightly smaller original joycons. With the larger screen I doubt the new joycon will be substantially larger maybe a half inch at most, so original joycon could potentially work on the new system if they factor in the original design connections (minus magnets)

Seems like a significant drain on power considering you only need the magnets while not docked

It doesn't seem like the electro magnets are supposed to function as the actual mechanism that keeps the Joy-Con attached. Rather, it appears that the magnets are designed to ACTIVATE a strong locking mechanism, as seemingly evident of that protruding pin/bolt in the right half of the unlock/locked diagram). This is beginning to make way more sense, as activating 'weighty mechanisms' is a common use of electromagnets.

This new controller connection patent suggests to me as to why they recently released a switch 1 joycon charger dock... i don't think they will be compatible with the switch 2 rails... if they are i feel like they won't charge.

@nintendoprime , IDK if this is anything you may be looking into but GAMESTOP has been adding in games for next years release date all the way up to march 2025. I know it's not Switch 2 news but all the games being added is getting me SOO EXCITED!! They look amazing, even PC/Console games i saw porting over to switch. I got a whole wishlist going on haha.
