I CAN'T BELIEVE the Tigers Season ended like THIS...

Great game! Great series! Detroit had a great run and I hope the Tribe can keep it going! Yes....I said the Tribe! They will always be the Tribe and the Indians to me. Woke crap is garbage and they should have never changed their name! Braves didn't! Just childish and stupid! Tribe has their work cut out for them though...the Yankees are never easy but we have to beat them. As for this hame with the Tigers and Skubal...going into it....the Tribe had to be able to get to Skubal...and they did! Nobody is perfect and someone somewhere was going to eventually get to him...and it was Cleveland to do the wrecking! Impressive....giving that nobody really gave the Guardians a chance against Skubal! And Skubal probaly needed this as well...a goodmlearning experience and certainly humbles him.....and for those emotions he said he was trying to keep in check, well; the Tribe did it for him!!!

I dunno, I feel like the Tigers can at least go home with their heads held high. Five years ago, they finished the season with fewer than 50 wins. Now they're a playoff team again, and they were competitive in the playoffs. It would have been different if they had gotten unceremoniously swept in the Division Series, and while it's true that they choked, they were in it for all five games. No, it's not the result they wanted, but they've come a long way, and it seems like they're not quite done rebuilding.

I'm a guardians fan and have to say hey no matter who won was just gonna get swept by the Yankees if lucky cle could possibly get one but really tho it was a good series vs Detroit and if I was a Detroit fan I would be just as happy as if they won because they are super young and have one of the best pitching units in baseball just need better hitters but they gave cle all they had and almost won but I would be happy with what's to come because Detroit is going to be a problem in the future and years to come because I'm sure after this run Cleveland probably won't be there again next season they never make it back to back and I can see it being all tigers for the central next year so be happy Detroit fans

Wondering if the HBP to Jose Ramirez with the bases loaded rattled Skubal. Because on the very next pitch, Lane Thomas hit the grand slam, which wrecked the game.

Tribe has the best bullpen in baseball, and the best closer since Rivera. Even he fumbled a bit. Surprised the series went 5 games. Big respect for small market teams. Unfortunately, only the Tribe advanced.

Going way back not many super stars during the season have the balls to come up big during the post season, as a Yankee fan I know a 2 big lugs in the outfield that are Mr. May part 1 and 2. Anyway, Sandy K did it, Reggie Jackson, Rivera, and of course Jeter. Forget the felon during the really great Tiger team of the late 60s, if not for the fat boy, well you know. Yea there are a few more, but sadly not many.

Two of those three hits were due to terrible positioning of the in-field. Without those positionings, Ramirez wouldn’t have gotten to the plate.

I said going into the game that Guardians are gonna have to beat Skubal to get past us and if they do, nothing to do but tip their cap to them. They beat Skubal. They earned their W.

This series honestly could have gone either way. My Cleveland sports ptsd was kicking in hard at multiple moments. Nothing but props to Detroit for the shocking break into the playoffs and the 2-1 lead they had on us. Our offense finally woke up and somehow found away against the scariest opener in the AL.

The Tigers should not have been there in the first place. The way the playoffs in baseball are structured now ridiculous. There is absolutely no reason that a third place team should be able to qualify, nor should three teams from one division be competing. The Phillies should not have been the NL champions in ‘22. These MLB playoffs are beyond f——d up

As a Cleveland Fan, I got nothin but love for our north coast brothers. I love to see the Tribe move on, but it sucks it had to be at the expense of Detroit. Love to all my Great Lakes brothers, Brewers, Cubs, Tigers and Jays .... Not the White Sox, Fuck the White Sox.

The talk of the series wasn't the Tigers pitching chaos bullpen, the Guardians main 4 with ERAs under 2 making it nearly impossible to beat them if they lead after 6 innings was equally featured.

The series came down to the bases loaded situations in the last 2 games. Tigers got 1, Guardians 5. And as you said, 1-12 is just unacceptable when you have opportunities like that.

A lot of respect for the Tigers as a Cleveland fan, but that's the thing with series like this -- hitters see the same pitchers over and over give them chances. Carpenter got to Clase, the best closer in baseball, early with the shot in Game 2, something Clase RARELY gives up. The Guardians started figuring out Skubal at the end of Game 2, although they didn't score in that game. So it didn't surprise me that they got to him in Game 5, even as great as he is. It's just how post-season baseball is. But hats off to both teams. Had Detroit won, I would have been rooting for them the rest of the way -- especially with the buy-your-way-into-the-playoffs Dodgers, Mets, and Yankees being the other teams remaining. Yet the AL Central was the toughest team in baseball this year. 3 teams in the ALDS says it all -- and the Twins are no slouches either. The only weak link was the White Sox.

3 out of 5 teams in that division made the playoffs and Minnesota almost made it. I'd say that is the strongest division in the American League.

I pretty much knew the Tigers weren't going past the ALDS.
People were bound to figure out Skubal if playing a long enough series against the Tigers.
I did however, know for a fact, that whoever the Tigers played in the Wild Card was going to lose, as that's only a best of 3, which is perfect for the Tigers lack of pitching.

I hope they have seen Jack on Saturday . Detroit have no Coaches , They are Adventure Seekers . CAT Teams !
