Whats the difference between tubeless rims vs traditional? I have a tubeless ready rim but it still has holes where the spokes go? Don't understand the difference since they look the same?

I really don't get why you have to replace a bent wheel. Isn't there a tool to straighten the rim without the spokes on? It's just a metal circle.
