As a business owner I’ve been struggling with the idea of deleting social media for the reasons of the platforms being a source for business promotion. But honestly, it just goes against my values to spend so much time on social media. Businesses existed before social media so I’m sure there are ways to promote business without it. Also, let's talk about how they do NOTHING to stop imposters, despite reporting. I was with a potential client, I had him go to TikTok and and imposter came up. Mine didn't even populate.

And last year I spent more time talking about my programs on social than actually putting together a good program! I'm rushing through the product so I can rush to promote it. 😢🎉😮 I already feel better having them off my phone. And THAT PART about cutting off access for onlookers. I have decided. I won't even go Live anymore. I will save that energy for my members. 🎉 thank you for being an angel and sharing the message of how to create a quality life. 🎉

I did this recently and have been dealing with a lot of regret. Did you experience any regret about deleting your socials?

I was trying so hard posting a status or a rant that was so intellectual and compelling, but sadly nobody cares. I also believe that social media can contribute to consumerism. I see people on there purchasing $1000 worth of merch on Amazon just to show it off on a fandom group to get likes from strangers. Its sad really. Since deleting it, I no longer have to worry and am content with the only things I need. It was a struggle deleting my Facebook, but I finally did it. Its the FOMO I had and seeing all my peers of their highlight reel posting their marriage engagement 💍 and new born child. I myself wanted to have my moment of Glory but then realized all the CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 does it really matter? True confidence stems from within. People who uses it are truly the ones who are insecure.

I had a couple who I had lived closeby, they invited myself and my husband over. Mind you, they are "friends" with us both on FB. While we were there, a third party person who also lives with the couple, came up to me and said,
"I heard you wrote a book!!! Wow! I can't believe you're an author!"

I smiled and asked the VERY obvious question,
"How do you know"??

The looks on the couple's faces were priceless because they expected me to ask them why they NEVER congratulated me when they saw the post.
Not even my own "Mother" posted a congratulation.
They do not like, nor comment on any of my business related activities, including my "mom"
But,
they are quick to like or comment when I share a personal post, such as returning after a Hike in the mountains with my husband.
But,
It's all crickets when I post my customers reviews from my online stores or my book reviews Lol, Damn, it's soooooo obvious
