ОтветитьThat this was succeeded by a pompous overblown theme as early as 1986 mirrors exactly what went wrong with 80s pop - this still sounds "modernist" now, its replacement sounds horrible. Rather like the work of many 80s "synth pop" artists!
ОтветитьPompous and overblown is a bit harsh. The "brain planet" theme was very much of the late 70s early 80's synth revolution and sounds great but I think Paul Hart's theme of 1986 suited the late 80s better. Its hard to say which has aged better, they both still sound great to me.
Ответитьlove it.....bring back many memories ..much better than the theme that followed it ;)
ОтветитьIt's pure genius. A bit like a cross between the basic beat from the Blade Runner theme and Hawkwind's Spirit of the Age (the morse code bit).
ОтветитьWhile I do like this theme, I will respectfully disagree. Love the one from the second half of the 80s.
ОтветитьI loved this...it was very of it's time... Electronic and New Romantic
ОтветитьExcellent track, brings back lots of great memories from the early 80's.
ОтветитьTo take them into the 80s, Tomorrow's World got composers like Richard Denton & Martin Cook to do a new theme, as the old Johnny Danskworth theme of the late 60s was beginning to seem rather dated.
ОтветитьThis is on Richard X’s ‘Back To Mine ‘ compilation. If any are still looking for a copy of this.
ОтветитьWhy on earth did this science-fact programme come to an end? For example it informed us of hybrid vehicles, which are a reality now. As well of other numerous things.
