You probably know this already but the mom in me wants to warn you to watch the boys and the little wheels on those cars. I learned the hard way when my boys were little and one of them bit the wheels off and swallowed one. Much love and stay safe!

We have not had good luck flying out of jfk. Flights just never seem to go out on time.

There’s always something happening at JFK I used to travel a lot from CA to JFK since my husband was stationed in Fort Drum NY. Glad over all you guys made it home safe ♥️

Sorry that happened to you! I’ve gone through a similar delay and afterwards I called delta to explain the inconvenience and they gave me sky miles points! Definitely call and see if they can compensate!

As a flight attendant I know how much these delays SUCK! I’m glad that you guys were at a base and able to get a new plane. Sometimes there’s no new planes to be able to use. Also FYI, we (flight attendants) actually don’t get paid until the door is closed so boarding and delays means no pay for us which truly does suck. At least they kept you notified and it wasn’t a cancellation! ✈️❤️ So happy you made it home even with a 6 hour delay! Also super sad I didn’t catch you in NYC as I live there and was in Boston instead haha. Emma running to you was the sweetest ever! 💓 much love and definitely reach out to the airline and they should compensate you!

I do not like to fly and I would have been off the first time at the mention of plane issues. My nephew is a pilot for Southwest.

It's so frustrating when your flight is delayed and you just want to get back to your children. I've been there on a number of occasions. I'm glad you got to go to New York and it wasn't crowded.

I am a pilot (and long time subscriber). We know that delays are a huge bummer, BUT what is more important is that we would rather find an issue on the ground and fix it than find the problem in the air and not be able to fix it. Hope this didn't contribute to your airplane anxiety! Delays are a good thing :)

I was delayed at Laguardia for 4 hours on the tarmac. That was the length of my flight. We weren't allowed off the plane. I don't like that airport. Everything backs up there.

Total bummer about the plane and such a long delay - but so glad everyone was safe and like 'FlyLikeAmber' said, better to find it on the ground than in the air!

Its just so amazing to see all 3 kids run up to you both when you got home! Its definitely worth it after a travel day like that!!!

I started watching the two of you a little bit after you had gotten Beau, and to see him grow up, then seeing you get the phone call about being pregnant with Emma, then going thru the transfer with the boys (watching Justin be so nervous about doing his very first shot he had to give you) - then finding out you were having TWINS! (you said it in the elevator on the way to the ultrasound!) And then them being born! And now?! WHAT??!!! You two have come SO FAR since then and to continue to watch your family grow - its just wonderful and amazing!

Such a lovely reunion with your beautiful children for you both. Lovely to see the gorgeous Beau and Mister too. Your friends are amazing for looking after the kids too. X

My 3 year old son was watching with me & he said "mom, I wanna go to their house cuz I want candy" 🤣🤣🤣

I agree it is frustrating to be late but honestly better off to come home late and alive rather then have gotten in the air and them not being able to fix the issue and the plane were to crash and never have made it home.
I've had similar issues in Australia and I reached out and the airline was happy to compensate me. This also mucks up the airlines schedule for the day too and leaves a lot of staff going without pay -- but if it means everyone's alive its all worth it.

This happened to us in Milan Italy, which meant we missed our connection in Amsterdam, which meant we had to be routed through Vancouver Canada, then connect to a flight to Seattle. Over 24 hours of traveling. I have never been so tired. Then to top it off a couple tried to steal our taxi at the airport. But the driver kicked them out. Whew, did he get a good tip.

Oh yes, and our luggage didn’t arrive for several days.
