Understanding melodic motion between different simultaneous melodies, and how they relate and move independently from one another is a very important skill for composing music. By looking into the part writing of Bach, one learns from the best how to do this. Here we analyse a section of a Bach chorale.

MUSIC COMPOSITION
"The Ultimate Composer of Sounds”
is an informal meeting among musicians and music lovers to discuss about music composition, and how to develop the necessary skills.

We will try and understand how to be able to organise sounds, develop and manipulate them in a coherent fashion, meaningful to performer and/or listener, whatever sound palette or musical style one wishes to use (whether created from scratch or using already existing materials or a combination of both), and how to be able to notate and/or create it directly on paper or using a music software and/or sound device. Also very important to know is also how one can open oneself to "Inspiration" and have the complete freedom and skill to materialise that original idea and the subtleties of its vibrations. All this I believe to be the highest achievements of a composer.

We will try to do this by looking into conventional and unconventional methods, discovering, experimenting, questioning and understanding the processes by which one can develop those skills.
