NextDC raises $1.3 billion for next stage of development

NextDC has raised $1.3 billion for the next stage of its development, says Sky News business editor Ross Greenwood.

He says it already owns “16 data centres in Australia and four in development”.

“Plus, three in New Zealand, Japan and Malaysia,” Mr Greenwood said.

“Earlier this year Next DC announced its first artificial intelligence factory ... which CEO Craig Scroggie today said will need specialised cooling and power to meet the energy demands of advanced computing.

“Australia, he says, needs more energy; more solar, more wind and frankly Scroggie said, nuclear energy.”
