For the perfect surround sound, no sound bar will beat an av receiver, your comment, you don’t need an av receiver any more, is wrong information. After 4 years, I would hope you have learn’t a lot more about home theatre.
ОтветитьWithout a subwoofer, a sound bar is a joke.
ОтветитьI just want to use the output from a pocket speaker to power my surround - I cut the stock speaker and replaced with my wired speakers the bluetooth quits within minuts even though it is plugged into the power outlet, Whats the deal all im doing is sending a signal im not using it as an amplifier, I fried two capacitors, Or are these pocket bluetooth speakers only good for one speaker- whats goin on with these things are they not designed for multiple speakers as im not using it for amplifying the sound i simply added more speakers so there shouldnt be an issue
Ответитьsorry... how to play 5.1 music via usb... dsd and pcm
ОтветитьI have a 4.1 amp and it's great differnt then a reciver
ОтветитьI have a soundbar already, but I want true surround sound, is there any device which can take my TV's hdmi arc as input, and have separate Outputs for my soundbar and it's sub and additional speakers?
ОтветитьIt's like asking do i need ear to hear sound
ОтветитьIf i got 2 tvs side by side can i use 1 av reciever with surround sound, 1 speaker for left tv an 1 speaker for right tv (roblox on xbox son/daughter)
ОтветитьTime waste on blabbering
ОтветитьThanks for the videos, is it possible to improve on audio sound? It's maxed up and I can hardly hear you when I drive
ОтветитьThis man gives great information while maintaining good composure. Shirt is crooked but everything else is precise. No-cut recordings aren't easy. Professional grade. 👍
ОтветитьI would like to add, that from my experience to have enjoyed better fidelity out of passive than active speakers. Sure a powered sub for your car is one thing. But at home, I just think passive speakers, including subs sound more musical than powered ones. That's the beauty of 5.1 surround systems. From quality companies the A/V receivers and speakers should match excellent together, better than any other brand regardless of price. I have a number of quality receivers, and tested them all with my speakers, but nothing sounded better than the receiver that came with the surround system (JBL). That really surprised me. But I imagine that will largely depend on the stereo company you prefer. Building a set of speakers, or speaker kits I have heard are a great way to really increase the quality of your stereo while not mortgaging the house. Which kits, that I cannot say regretfully. But when it comes to cabinets, finding a quality pair of speakers with nice cabinets but "blown" drivers I think is the way to go. You just replace the drivers, that way the speaker cabinet is already built. Used cabinets with bad speakers in them go real cheap too. You will need to watch and find new drivers that match the crossover unless you wish to replace them as well. And that is something I am having a hard time to understand - the high cost of speaker crossovers with low end Chinese parts. Parts Express anybody? Peace.
ОтветитьOne thing people don't ever think about and that is creating an acoustically neutral room, or any kind of sound proofing to make the room your stereo is in work better with your stereo. There are crazy expensive "foam" products out there and I'm not sure if they deliver for the price. However, having a room with double walls where there is a 2 - 6 inch open air gap between them I do know works great at making a room shine acoustically. And allows you to crank it up without annoying the whole neighborhood. The most bohemian and cheap way to help a room out is hanging moving blankets from the ceilings along the outer edge of the walls, again leaving that so important gap of air space and making sure the blankets extend to the floor. And by the way, can you ever have too many speakers, really? :)
ОтветитьOr you could just buy a new phone with Dolby Atmos built-in. 😜
Ответить"The wireless surround speakers connect throught a wire to the sub ", which then connects wiressly to the sound bar.
(even the really wireless surround speakers still need to be connected with a "wire" to the power plug.)
I think that in many cases it is still less trouble to route an audio wire to a traditional "wired speaker than figuring out how to place a power outlet next to where the surround speaker is supposed to be placed.
For surround sound you need some device that splits the signal to multiple channels. A sound bar splits to the signal to the drive units it has and possibly to bass and rear speakers.
To balance the sound between left and right, front and back a receiver has the most features for easy adjustment. You can have a HDMI debedder that takes the audio out to 8 channels and passes through the signal to a television, projector or display monitor. If the source is a computer then the computer treats the debedder as a sound card and you have some control over the arrangement. Passive speakers and active analogue speakers do not have a lip sync latency issue. Anything digital and particularly wireless introduces delay or compression or both. Not all systems give you the control and set up features to make the adjustments. Usually the audio is delayed but can sometimes precede the action.
Very interesting; sound bar; WOW! May just get one. The video; cool.
ОтветитьThank you for not sounding like a cartoon or having wacky edits
ОтветитьDude you suck at explaining this stuff…
ОтветитьSoundbars are glorified center channels. To believe they can provide surround sound is silly.
ОтветитьYou have really wonderful eyelashes
ОтветитьDude, you are the man!! Thanks for your video and explaining sound bars! I really did not understand the concept and wanted to add wireless speakers. Now, I know just how to do that!! By the way, I have subscribed to your channel right now!! Thanks, man!!
ОтветитьNOTHING and I mean NOTHING can replace a physical speaker being present. Dont let Dolby or another corporation that sells soundbars fool you. Sounds r super pricy today to
ОтветитьIf the soundbars were so good as you say, the cinema teathers would use soundbars instead of the powerful receivers they are using now....
ОтветитьI have a great system with a Yamaha RX A660 Receiver and Klipsch RF-52 ll speakers, but since we downsized to an apartment, it's no longer practical nor do I have enough room for two front speakers, a center speakers and two rear surround speakers.
I am now finding that nobody wants to buy these type of systems any longer, and I'm having a hell of a time getting rid of them even though they are in excellent condition and of great quality.
Soon soundbars will be outdated also.
Wireless still sucks to set up especially Bose from my experience. They sound great but setup was a huge pain. Hopefully it gets produced better in the future.
ОтветитьGreat video
Ответитьbruh lol sound bar
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьSurround sound without receiver but now i need a soundbar... how about change the title to "using a soundbar as a surround sound reciever" 🤦♂️
Ответить9.4.2 is still stereo if all speakers are infront of you I rather have a simple stereo setup than a "dolby atmos" soundbar
ОтветитьIf you want true separation there is absolutely no way around it you need a home theater receiver or some sort of audio decoder that properly reads the audio output from the designed source and outputs it to the proper channels. If you have a Home theater receiver that is 5.1 and you want an Amp to boost the sound ( watts per channel ), you simply just can't buy a two channel Amp, because you'll only get stereo, you'll need a 4 channel Amp and use LFO/LFE ( low frequency out put or better terms The sub woofer) threw the Pre Amp. If you want proper separation you'll never obtain it by jerry rigging a system.
Ответитьhey man. I have a hometheater philips hts6600/55 and the receiver has a problem. Any ideas on how I can reuse these speakers?
ОтветитьYou do not need an AV receiver or AV pre-sound processor or anything else that often is both superfluous, undersized and expensive in order to get a DTS / AC-3 decoder with 5.1 or 7.1 audio out via DAC to discrete analog outputs. There are plenty of products that even have HDMI and HDCP v2 and higher with ARC and CEC support etc on the market that have that function and support for much less price even counting the amplifiers that can drive the speakers.
ОтветитьSo I got a yamaha rx-v365 with 2 towers hookup aalong with 2 front and 2 rear an! Center Yamaha speakers that come in the kit then a 200 watt emmersion sorround sound dvd player hooked up to 2 more towers and a 8" sub plug in to the front speakers and sub outputs then a denon avr 484 hooknup with 2 bookshelf speakers and a center tower with 2 Denon satellite speakers. So got phone plug into the Yamaha then got that running to the dvd player input then habe the out put of the dvd player hooked up to the denon avr. Trying to find what volume o should run all these systems together or got where literally can take 2 audio plugs intonphone to 2 at se time but wanna know if should volume on phone be all up then dvd player all up and denon at and then just turn yamaha up till its sounds good but then feel like some spesakes arent run runing at some points while playing with all 3 volumes to get it tunned just right if anyone still b with me and help me open ears here
ОтветитьI've got a very big open room, I've got my towers and my center channels, I want to add bookshelves and Atmos speakers but there's gonna be loose wiring everywhere to get it connected to my avr.
ОтветитьWhat I want is an av sender/ receiver capable of UHD and 5.1 sound..
Just realised most we watch is streaming so want to send signal to cinema room.
I've had my fair share of audio setups, from surround sound packages to budget AVRs right up to my current system, which is an audiophile grade 5.2.4 setup but if I could go back and start again, I would've invested in a good 2.2 system, if you got good speakers and their are positioned correctly, the imaging would be good enough!
ОтветитьI learned something. Thought it was implying that I could just have a pile of speakers and no receiver and Macgyver something to the tv. My misunderstanding.
Ответитьreceiver = ugly and extra remote that's a pain in the a**
ОтветитьI don't know if this will be a silly question. But if you can have wireless speakers. Couldn't they make TV's with built in surround that sends surround sound to those speakers wirelessly.
ОтветитьOMG! Why the heck was this video not called: "Get a soundbar instead of a Receiver for surround sound" While I'm researching a real surround system and listening to this video on my soundbar... such a garbage advice! No wonder why this has a poor dislike ratio... mine included!
ОтветитьSo in short, yes you do need a receiver to get true surround sound, what a stupid video 🤔
ОтветитьA 6channel receiver is a hybrid between a 5.1 channel decoder and an amplifier. (Combines the two)
Alternatively:
You could just buy a cheap 5.1 decoder and connect the output of the decoder to an signal amplifier.
There is definitely some hassle upfront but once you’re set, you don’t seem to notice it at all. The results are phenomenal.
The overall cost comes down dramatically, also the above setup allows for practically endless number of any type of speakers through daisy chained amplifiers and not just the ones you get with your receiver.
i cant believe in this day and age, that a receiver needs to be that big
ОтветитьI don't have any input. it seems ridiculous to get an AV receiver to switch inputs when I only have the arc coming out of the TV to provide signal for the surround. Isn't there a better way to just get front rear left and right out of the TV and an amp to power them?
ОтветитьThanks for the videos. How can I get really good sound and great bass around 50 people watching a 20 foot screen in an open air park. I feel I'll need lots of amp but can't seem to find a video going over that specifically or promoting a great system for that. The projector will be a Xgimi Horizon Pro 4K. The crowd will be about 20-50 feet back from the screen and up to about 30 feet wide.
ОтветитьIf you can't wire speakers you don't deserve to have surround sound.
When you recommend sound bars and people can't even figure out how to hook them up! 😂😂🙄
Hi, great video, do you know if I can use Bose Surround Speakers without a sound bar and just wire to an amplifier?
Ответить
