Hey Eric and Brian, thank you for the video. I am praying for my Central American neighbours as Hurricane Julia pass over central america. Still praying for Florida recovering for Ian. Thankfully Julia travel far south of Belize, lets hope they are no fatalities.
ОтветитьThanks again for the Sunday enjoyment! It's nice to hear people who truly know fountain pens.
I recently watched a video from the opposite... Comparison of inexpensive and higher priced pens that was full of misinformation, myth and general proof they really didn't know about fountain pens, though the people involved use them. Didn't even know the difference between dip inks and fountain pen inks. Every ink they didn't like isn't used for fountain pens... Basically an ad for a Sheaffer/Pelikan blend with a "bird splat" on the cap. 😂
Eric, your comment proves you care about getting information right. I really appreciate that!
Howdy,
Interesting new pens!!! Sorry, but the Aurora display case cuaght my eyes too. I have an Aurora Optima and wonder if you can get an 14K F nib unit for that pen? PS: I really like pens with some girth (more comfortable in my hand) but are reasonably short (to fit smaller pockets when needed) and post nicely (for comfort in the hand too). I really like my Pro GearS and the Optima is great because it holds lots of ink (the only shortfall of the Sailor---although the use of a cartridge in an emergency is nice).
A nice surprise to see the AP Sunday Brunch in my YT notifications this morning. (I forgot between Thursday and this morning that this is the week for brunch! 🙄) Another fun video, and those Magna Carta pens are enticing! Thank you guys!
ОтветитьHappy Sunday Brunch podcast fellows! Very special pens Brian and Eric, I thank you for showing your precious ones. The Aurora pen case is something to have, but I like the Magna Carta pens..but which...hum....we'll have to check the finance officer ....
Thank you both for your videos and your sharing.
Eric is the true Godfather of Fountain Pens. He's really a great ambassador for the hobby. Great video guys!
ОтветитьWhile all Sunday Brunches are great, this one is one of the greatest. And that has nothing to do with the fact I got all 3 of the quiz questions correct —perhaps it helps to be a Presbyterian and a retired astronomy instructor. Like Brian my wife also only got the first one correct. It seems like you guys are moving to a once a month Sunday Brunch, I understand, but would suggest every other week when possible, or twice a month. Regardless, thanks for all the work that goes into Sunday Brunch, including , of course Justin.
ОтветитьIve got a Morrison pen
ОтветитьLord.. what am I doing wrong? Can’t find the pens yet. Lol
ОтветитьWelp, Denima and Prince are pretty much my picks. Not sure my wallet agrees, ha. Would have loved a Denima with the no 8!
ОтветитьThose Magna Carta pens are gorgeous! When will they be available on the website?
ОтветитьIt must be your goal to have terrible jokes? Just asking. BYW we should be referred to as your congregation.
ОтветитьThanks for yet another exciting Sunday Brunch, Brian, and Eric.
I'd like to comment on the question comparing the widths of Australia, and the moon. In order to be fair, we ought to compare the circumference of the moon to Australia's width. The circumference of the moon is approximately 6911 miles [2200 miles x Pi], which makes it wider than Australia. So, Brian answered the question right IMO 😉🙂
Thanks and keep up the great work!
Both vintage pens today were so awesome guys!! So interesting to hear the backstory on both too. If Magna Carta offered the Denima with a no.8 sized nib with a pneumatic style filler... Yeah. Haha or even the Baron or Crown series with a pneumatic style filler. Maybe they will in the future. I love that it's a throwback to the vintage pens.
ОтветитьI have a Kritzler Pen and did a bit of research about them-
Kritzler, USA. (L. Kritzler Pen Company) A pen manufacturing company located in New York City; founded by Louis Kritzler and operated in the early decades of the 20th century. The company was primarily a maker of gold nibs but also sold fountain pens under its own name. The pens are virtually identical to products sold under the Morton and Roxy brands, which were owned by the Union Pen Company, a subsidiary of Morrison!
Great show today. Those Magna Carta s look amazing. Brian asked (rhetorically) 'who has no. 8 nibs and ebonite feeds?' And, honestly, a lot of no.8 nibs on the market have ebonite feeds. Bock makes them and I have them in pens by Newton, Conid, Ranga, ASC, and Wahl Eversharp. My MB149 has an ebonite feed too. But, none are at that MC price point.
ОтветитьGreat video, guys. I tried to just have it playing in the background, but I couldn't resist watching the whole thing attentively. The vintage pens you brought are both really cool, and the Magna Cartas are very tempting. Also, I had a great visit to the Chicago store yesterday -- lots of fun, as always, and Lisa helped me find a great birthday gift for my wife. And a pen for me, of course. 😁
ОтветитьLove the video! You two are great.
ОтветитьI'm so glad that Anderson Pens has picked up Magna Carta pens! I have two of them and looove them! They are gorgeous and write amazing!
