Duke games and championships were bought. Duke fans are in denial but everybody knew back then. Larry Johnson and Chris Webber did almost an identical stunt. The Kentucky game was clearly bought. Rick Patino didn't gaurd the inbound, Kentucky players watched the ball in the air.
ОтветитьCouldn`t go left on a consistent level....
ОтветитьStill a legend in Detroit
ОтветитьFolks who aren’t old enough to have seen him play live will have no idea how much of a dominant player Hunt was. And how great of a team the Running Rebels were. There was speculation that he was ‘blackballed’ by the NBA.
Personally I remember staying up late to watch ESPN’s Big Monday’s late night / early morning WAC games and the UNLV games seldom disappointed. Sure some of them were blowouts, but you were basically watching an intact NBA team.
I really think you should’ve covered more. Like how the NCAA prevented members of the team from earning any money. They wouldn’t let them sell t-shirts. And of course Shark encouraged Hunt to stay in school but he had a lot to gain by doing so. I would have also pointed out that Hunt was about the same size as Dana Barros who entered the league a couple of years before him.
Finally, as much as I liked Tark, he was ousted from UNLV after years of speculation and scandal rumors and eventual proven rule violations. More a reflection of the corrupt NCAA but leaving that out paints the wrong picture, in my opinion.
Hunt could’ve easily fit in on some teams and played several years if it weren’t for systemic issues and perhaps his inability to play the other game of image, packaging, etc.
Salute SG! Another old school banger from my day. Classic case of undersized Shooting Guard. Could never make the transition to the point.
ОтветитьPolitics is in every sport
ОтветитьTaye George, Kerry Kittle, or better yet Fennis Dembo and Derrick Chevious.
ОтветитьI know this Brother as well....Man if he was 6'3 and stayed that extra year....I played with him as well!!!He'd be top 10 in days NBA but in the 90s he was too small to play his natural position(2 Guard @6ft)...The Celtics gave him a Shot but H is not a PG pure scorer and a cool Brother🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
ОтветитьTakin pics wit da nig doe smh

ОтветитьThat Duke game was fixed !
ОтветитьHe hung out on my block in Vegas sometimes. Perry St.
ОтветитьMy brother do a stunted growth on u
ОтветитьIn the NBA, you have to be able to defend, especially in the 90's. If Terrell Brandon could lit him up for 50 in a pre-draft camp, imagine what Isiah Thomas, Kevin Johnson, John Stockton, Gary Payton, Mark Price, etc. would have done to him. The people he was guarding in college probably ended up parking cars just like him.
ОтветитьHold up... Runnin Rebels had white players?. Now that's a Stunted Growth
ОтветитьAnderson Hunt just might be one of the best players to not play in the NBA he should have been Drafted in the 1st Round truly sad
ОтветитьI'm Vegas born and raised, I loved these teams. LJ was the man, but Hunt was dominant too, and was the best player in that championship win against Duke. He was energetic and athletic, and I started remembering him a few years ago when I began thinking about all of the guys on that team that made it. I never understood why he didn't make it, but this breaks it down good. I remember the pictures with the price fixed hurt us. However, I think him not being an assists guy hurt him, the NBA valued guys playing their positions. He was too small to be considered a good shooting guard, so he would have to be a ball handler and passer.
ОтветитьThis video was not good
ОтветитьFuck the haters...Anderson Hunt will ALWAYS and ETERNALLY be a legend...!!!!!
H~
These interruptions during the video! Chill 🤣🤣🤣
I know you gotta plug advertisements. Lol.
If Hunt came along in this era, those pictures and hot tub would be celebrated. I hate how the NCAA used UNLV for revenue only to punished then after the 1991 Tournament .
He has played in France, in Mulhouse city... Waouhhhh what a player, did best dunk I've ever seen, from downtown... 💪
Nice to see this video, love from France
Hunt was a killer 4real he went hard 4real
ОтветитьLee mayberry arkansas

ОтветитьBrian Reese, Reggie Lewis would be great too
Ответитьdo one of these for Gerald walker. that guy was a Bay Area legend
ОтветитьHunt was really fun to watch. I loved his fearless 2-handed dunks off 1 foot. He was fearless.
ОтветитьHe was my favorite player at UNLV
ОтветитьThis channel is so addicting
ОтветитьAnother Detroit great. We need that Michael talley stunted Growth
ОтветитьRight game, wrong time, would be a super sixth man in today's NBA
ОтветитьA few comments here.
- The elephant in the room(The hot tub photo): That picture was taken in the fall of 1989.
Scurry and Butler were already out of eligibility before the 1990-1991 season.
Hunt led UNLV in scoring in the final 4 with 29 points both years.
If you rewatch the 1991 UNLV- Duke rematch. Only Hunt and Anthony played well.
If there was a fix on that game it involved the refs handing that game to Duke late with the bogus charge on Anthony and the invisible foul calls on Laettner.
Hunt was cheapshotted by Bobby Hurley not once but twice. When LJ argued about the noncall he got the Technical.
There is not a shred of proof Hunt ever shaved any points, and if I was him I would sue anyone who said so for slander.
He also took some very hard hits that game and continued to play.
Hunt had tryouts with the Bullets, Celtics and Bulls. Yes he should have come back and played PG.
The 1991-1992 went 26-2 and had 4 future NBA players and a platoon at pg among very average players.
With Hunt they would have gone 28-0, but they were ineligible to play in the tourney.
There should always be a roster spot for shooter and his jumper was a thing of beauty.
Hunt was a very good defender, and his vertical leap was off the charts.
Now he would have no issue making a NBA roster of 17, plus 2(two way guys)
Making a 12 man roster back then was much more difficult.
When has character issues ever kept a player out of the NBA? That is laughable.
Hunt wasnt a choir boy, but he sure as hell did not shave any points.
One year of playing pg on a 28-0 UNLV team would have gotten him to the league.
He should have listened to Tark.
Hunt did a podcast talking about both Duke games. He alluded to a certain player staying out all night and just making it to the team breakfast.
YOu can tell by watching the game which player that was.
For those to say he could not use his left. Could Augmon or Anthony go right?
The world will never know just how much Anderson Hunt(UNLV Days)Means to me. It always puzzled me as to why he never played in the NBA. But now I know 😥
ОтветитьAustin Daye
