When men were men, women were women ...or, off with your head ...muah ahh ahh ahh 🤴 👑 🦁
ОтветитьAnne of Cleves had atrocious body odour.
ОтветитьThank you for this documentary as it reminded me of two TV biopics; the Tudors and Peter the Great (Maximilian Schell). The parallel I'm drawing is the ruthlessness of their personalities in tearing their countries away from established habits to newer and lesser known ones. Both men met with resistance and both were intense on their response.
ОтветитьThe downfall of "at least five" ?? Well not really, I mean, maybe three, Jane Seymour died after complications with childbirth which happened very frequently, and if you count Anne of Cleves, well that was more a blessing in disguise. As for Catherine Parr, her difficulties really came after with her marriage to Thomas Seymour and then her own subsequent death after giving birth.
ОтветитьHi. I think King Henry VIII (28.6.1491 - 28.1.1547) was a very big, strict, ruthless, arrogant, and determined man who ruled England for nearly 38 long and eventful years, had a whopping 70,000 people executed and married 6 times. At about 6ft 3, he was certainly bigger and taller than his six wives, who vied for his attention and wanted to please him by giving him a male heir to succeed him to the throne of England when he died. And out of those 6 women, only Jane Seymour obediently obliged her moto and forfilled what was expected of her by giving birth to King Edward VI (12.10.1537 - 6.7.1553). Henry was understandably devastated by her death from childbed fever. He had a very loud and explosive temper that probably echoed through the palaces and courts wherever he was. It also possibly made a lot of people rather fearful and frightened of him as he had such violent outbursts of a very aggressive temper.
By the end of his reign, the very big, fat, and thirty stone king had got his most important wish, and that was he had a male heir who succeeded him to the throne of England. Even if a lot of people did their best to try and please him, Henry would have none of it, and for a lot of people, their only reward was to have their heads chopped of with a axe.
He may well have been the king of England, but in the eyes of the people who lost their lives, he also probably did a lot of things that weren't required of him towards them. He might have been fine in the early years of his reign, but he probably made a lot of palaces and other buildings shake and quake with his violent screaming, shouting, bellowing, and yelling so much. I can't imagine how very unpopular that made him. It possibly also sent a lot of people into exile, and if that's the case, they might well have stayed in exile until the start of the reign of queen Elizabeth I (7.9.1533 - 24.3.1603).
According to a book, Henry VIII had wanted a male heir to just succeed him to the throne at the end of his reign, because he believed that women could not rule the country as well as a man. But his second and younger daughter Elizabeth certainly proved him wrong, as she was a lot more fair and grateful to devoted servants during her long lifetime. I don't know, but I don't think she had as many people executed in her reign as he father did. She only got rid of the people who plated against her life or who led rebellions against her. She was undoubtedly everyone's most favourite monarch, really.
Hope to hear from you shortly.

Spent all his fathers built up wealth?
ОтветитьHis F——-G LEG!!! Not the odd one……
Ответитьonce you get fat you get angry
ОтветитьBad ass dude
ОтветитьI love the music. Thanks.
ОтветитьLove King Henry!! What a narcissist psychopath😅😅
ОтветитьThe French called Henry Vlll "the English Nero". Absolutely correct.
ОтветитьHenry VIII did not write Greensleeves.
ОтветитьLiars.
ОтветитьHe was mentally unstable and needed psychiatric treatment. But not possible in those days when King had absolute power
ОтветитьAll these poor women. 😢
ОтветитьIt was always tyranny from the get go....
Ответитьfrom my math and I could be wrong but Catherine Howard wasn't yet 20 when she married that maniac nor when she went to the chopping block and unlike her cousin Anne Boleyn Catherine Howard didn't even get a trial she was presumed guilty stripped of everything and I can't remember was she the one who had to see the heads of the men she allegedly slept with on the pikes I think it was her not Anne although I am pretty sure Anne heard the execution of her own brother as it was happening
ОтветитьWell Boo Hoo I doubt Anne of Cleves was just itching to get into bed with him (Sarcasm)
ОтветитьHe didn't love anyone but himself he didn't love Jane especially if what I heard was true supposedly during Jane's 3 day difficult birth of Edward Henry was asked if we have to choose who do we save and Henry says save the boy I can get other wives!
ОтветитьHenry took Catherine's child away that is what killed her technically it was probably Cancer or something of the heart but she died from a broken heart her heart literally stopped shriveled up and turned black and Mary was not even permitted to see her mother as she lay dying nor was she allowed to attend the funeral then he takes Anne away from Elizabeth at the age of only 2 and he railroaded both Anne and Catherine Howard but Anne atleast got a trial even if it was stacked against her young Catherine was just assumed guilty stripped of her titles and thrown in the dungeon to wait her death by axeman the only reason Anne Boleyn got the courtesy of fa swordsman with proper skill was to maintain Henry's reputation as a generous kind I wish I could convery the sarcasm of that statement he probably knew Elizabeth would be Queen one day and if he were still alive he was afraid she would take revenge on him for murdering her mother I would have if I were her but he died before she was old enough to be Queen but Anne got her revenge Henry died an ugly old tyrant and Anne's daughter became Gloriana she reigned for 45 years Mary reigned only 5 years and will forever be known as Bloody Mary and Edward sad that he died young but being the son if Henry the 8th must have been a heavy burden to carry I'm not sure what is worse being his daughter and being ignored or being his son and having to live up to his expectations .
ОтветитьBy all accounts Henry was a great athlete when younger. I have no doubt that injury and being morbidly obese played into his mental decline.
ОтветитьHe turned into a Butt-hole
ОтветитьTässä on niin pahoja historiallisia virheitä että hirvittää 😬
Ответить"what caused Henry VIII's reign to descend into tyranny?"
as a non UK native, i can sum it up as this:
he couldn't get any and the Church said no.
Henry was pure evil and completely selfish.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the music that plays during the end credits?
ОтветитьThe music sterribly distracting ad repetitive!
ОтветитьI love what Ben Jonson said about him he was a monster of Satan who led us all astray to serve his evil lusts
ОтветитьThe inaccuracies are atrocious.
ОтветитьWisdom wasnt as advanced as it is today. The love of money is the root of evil. Never love money or materialism more than God. Acknowledge God in all your ways. Money and Power is a deadly combination. You cant serve 2 masters
Ответить"The King of 6 views." You sure?
ОтветитьI would say that the reason why Henry VIII became a tyrant, was two fold. Firstly, he couldn't get a divorce from the Roman Catholic Church, and second, he suffered a jousting accident, which resulted in an ulcer, which lasted for the rest of his life, and must have been absolutely maddening.
ОтветитьHe wasn’t exactly the best to have as a brother-in-law as well!
ОтветитьI say the famous scourge of the age old S disease
ОтветитьMISOGYNIST!!
ОтветитьDictatorshop is "the modern state"??
ОтветитьThe cause was his need for a male heir , which come to find out he didn’t need anyway!
ОтветитьHenry the 8th was a psychotic egotistical tyrant bastard ! !
ОтветитьIt's not crammer or woolley it's his daughters legacies . The bloody queen and glorianna
ОтветитьTypical man that thinks everything is his wife's fault 🙄
ОтветитьAlcoholism and gout.
ОтветитьIt’s because he married his brother’s widow
ОтветитьHenry wouldn't be able to define love with a dictionary. He confused LUST with love like many people do. People blame the women involved when they had NO CHOICE in that misogynistic society that saw women as broodmares and property. Anne and Katherine Howard were pimped to him by their family. It was never the females choice.
ОтветитьIt doesn't mention that the reason Henry was so anxious to have a male heir, that of the bloodshed (mainly of the nobility) of the Wars of the Roses
ОтветитьEasy answer: HenryVIII.
ОтветитьHe couldn't get a son by his first wife and she refused to divorce him when asked.
