This Furnace was NOT Serviced in 2023. I think Customer should have Said, “2013”. Nothing looks like it’s been Touched on this Furnace in a very long time. 🤪👎

nfp211 if that is drywall or any combustible mat the clearance is 18 inches is you use a shield 9 inches but in your case bvent for 1 inch for the flue pipe

Overall good service boiler probably never serviced.

When the owner said yea the Chinese guy , That comes around ? That’s a red flag nice job on the diagnosis and repair , I probably would’ve of changed out the site Glass just so the customer had a visible reference. And you can verify , the water level is correct .This way if you get a call back you can double check clearly that the water level is good, letting you know that the work you did is solid and it is a new problem. And I have a feeling you will be back to adress additional issues.

See, this is why I hate water based heating. So many different metals, no anti-corrosive, and no obvious way to de-scale and clean the system. It's like they're designed specifically to fail in a way that ensures the homeowner will have to regularly call a plumber, rather than be able to fix/maintain the system themselves.
