Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and insight. Excellent video!❤
Ответитьi have to have candles for magick, which is funny bk i'm a water sign. tarot cards are always on my altar, as well as a chime, incense, dried herbs, and so many other things. it's kinda messy, but picturesque. i think you are right about the setting & aesthetics of the ritual space. i should swap-out my altar cloth, but i've pretty much used the same one for a couple years bk i'm too lazy to remove all the crap on top!!! ha! 🪐
ОтветитьThank you for this. Quick question. How do you get wax out? The bottom of mine seems to be permanently dyed at the bottom. I tried burning stuff in it and boilinf water in it to melt the wax, and nothing has worjed. It's not really a problem. I just thought I'd ask.
ОтветитьI love your beginner videos because the way you cover them is not basic. You take such a simple subject and make a little masterpiece out of it. I've been watching all your videos since I discovered your channel, and really, even though many of the basic topics have already been discussed many times on other channels, the way you talk about them allows me to really rediscover them. Thank you so much for your work ❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьI'm so happy that you keep bringing up thrift stores in your videos. When I was a beginner I felt very obligated to buy every fancy witchy thing from metaphysical stores. Lost so much money that way. Lol Most of my tools that I use now are things that I've found from thrift stores or just happened to come by at random convenience. My own wand is made from a branch of a Christmas and my altar cloth is literally cut up pillowcase. I know beginner videos aren't your cup of tea, but I think it's wonderful that you take the time to still share.
ОтветитьI have been collecting witchy items for years and I don't think I've ever spent more then 10-30 dollars on an item. Mostly it's under 10. I usually find things outside, go to thrift shops and yard sales, estate sales or antique shops. Or use farmers markets, dollar stores and discount stores. I live near two college towns and the amount of stuff that can be used for witchy purposes at those thrift shops is high. I think the kids in the dorms buy candles, incense, herb bundles, etc thinking they can use them when they can't. Or they want to dabble in the occult and stop for some reason and toss everything at the end of a semester. I'm surprised you didn't mention bowls. Everytime you have a haul video you have bowls. And us witches love our bowls, baskets, boxes and jars. Love this idea on basic ritual tools and how you made it useful and accessable. Things most people can find readily available in any shop, except the fancy altar cloths. You can find altar cloths anywhere, just hard to find those specific more occult looking ones. I've seen a lot of basic tool videos that don't necessarily use basic tools in them so much. It's more those specific specialty items that are only for witches that cost a lot of money and the ability to shop at very specific stores. This video is honest and shows just how much a witch can do without an occult shop full of special tools. We need more of that. Yes please on a ritual tool video. And please show items in every category, nature items, thrifted items, regular store items and occult store items. Things for every budget and asthenic.
Ответить> Friendly remainder, because we live in time of raging consumerism: when you're starting your path and it cames to tools, simpler the better. Give yourself time to build up your collection of tools while you are building up your skill set. Using more affordable tools is not making you less of the witch. Our ancestors were doing magic without acces to online stores :)
> You don't need fancy altar cloth right out of the bat - plain cotton napkin will do (and you can buy pretty ones when you figure out what you need), you don't need million and one colorfull candles - pack of white tea lights and little pack of crayons will do just fine (if you add crayon shavings into tea light and light it, they will melt and dye candle itself) and if you decide that candle magic is not for you, it's easier to find use for those remaining tealights. One of most underrated tool is chalk - you can use white chalk on white wall to draw protective symbols that won't be noticeable unless you specifically search for them, you can draw sigils under your doormat or line across sidewalk if you think that some unwanted presence is following you (also it's cheap). Music and ambient sounds can put you in the magic mood and there's a lot of free resources online. Don't shy away from color magic (e.g. wear clothes in specific colors for specific spells - you can do as little as scarf or wristband just to convey intention). Try knot magic - all you need is string (so again, cheap and easy to hide). There's a lot of tools you can make yourself - pendulums, wands, spirit boards, magpie oracle. Pretty pebles found on the side of the road works as fine as fancy crystals. Herbs from kitchen cupboard are as good as ones from esoteric shop.
> I agree with Ivy that fireproof plate and any documentation of your workings is must (you can even make photos of your spells and make short notes about them on your phone, this way you can go back and study what worked, what didn't and what possible mistakes you've made if something went wrong).
> Strategize your cleansing method - what methods you can or cannot do in the place you're in - some places won't allow you to burn things, you should not spread salt on the soil outside as it can damage plant life, sound of some wind chimes or singing bowls can be unpleasant to pets, etc.
> About oils: please check if you're not allergic to ingedients before you use it on yourself. Suprise allergic reaction in the middle of ritual is not what you want
> Remember, you are the magic :)
Where are our have you learned shamanism I asked because I'm interested in it myself. Any advice or suggestions appreciated. And what type of shamanism do you practice inquiring minds want to know LoL 😂❤
ОтветитьI'm not a beginner but nice video.
ОтветитьIs the charcoal disk the same thing u buy for BBQ?
ОтветитьYour jewelry terrifies me but that's because I have snake phobia lol it looks really cool though. Especially love those earrings!
ОтветитьThanks for the informative video! I have a bunch of witchcraft books but have yet to use them. This video makes me want to use them.
ОтветитьEvery time I see you post a “beginner” anything I’m like 👀😂❤
ОтветитьLove the necklace Ivy. It looks great on you!
ОтветитьYou inspire me so much. Thank you for another amazing video!🥰
ОтветитьGot so many candles from my piano teacher awhile back and I still haven't burned them all. I have to always hold back when I see candles, but I will always get either a candle or a candle holder whenever I go to the thrift store. With my kitties, I always make sure my door and windows are open and I have my ceiling fan on when burning incense or smoke cleansing.
ОтветитьI suspect Ivy is a polymath.
ОтветитьLove all the cloths. 😊
ОтветитьYes. Share your tools with us. Your extra bonus items.
ОтветитьI love your channel! I always have really intense dreams but I almost always forget them as soon as I wake up :( what would help remembering dreams the next day? I wish I could record them and play them back
ОтветитьThat's how I make black salt too! But I also add ink, because I like it really black.
My Wiccan training circle was consternated when our teacher told us, "Tonight you're going to cast a circle without any words or tools." But we managed it. Tools are great, but in a crisis you really don't need them. It was a good lesson.
I enjoy your beginner content, as well as your more advanced content. I pretty much love everything you do. I’d love more planetary magic/ astrology content. ✨
ОтветитьOh yes ! I would surely love to see a video of all the ritual tools you have and how you use them. Additionally, I would also like to see a video of how you use your Astrological Altar cloth in a spell. I know, how to use the Altar cloths with Directions, the ones with the Sabbaths, Coloured ones, but I would like to see how you use the Black Altar Cloth (astro) in a spell or ritual. Thanks!
Ответитьlove your videos! thank you so much! candle video yes pkease! ❤
ОтветитьI am very new to occult practices and i have so much to learn. I understand you wanting to keep your content for intermediate/advanced practitioners because of the over saturation of begginner content. However, I find myself unable to watch other occultistst long enough because of all the babbling they go on with or a lot of it isnt relevant to me. There are only a few content creators I can actually sit through enitely and not realise I have been watching them an entire hour without tuning out. Evidently, you are one of them. I like your direct, no nonsense, get strait to the point approach as well as the useful bits of information you provide without ovrr complicating things. It is with great thanks to you, I purchased a number of books to do shadow work. While I am not a Witch (or maybe I am!), I enjoy your eclectic occult content, but some of it is just way over my head. So yes, please go through your ritual objects. This is an area i have absolutley no understanding about. And please consider us very new to these practices who need a bit more basic content so we can continue to support your brilliant channel.❤
ОтветитьI would love to see your ritual toools! They are so inspiring! ❤❤
ОтветитьVery good point, tools are nice, but not needed
I remember using the back of a huge frying pan as an altar space
For cleansing, we asperge blessed water and salt, or sweep the floors with our brooms
I from the age when we had few figure candles, we often made out own
One of our favorites is using crushed ice I. Wax to create little caves etc
Love your enthusiasm, you are a credit to the craft
Love seeing all your tools, especially the different altar cloths!
ОтветитьI would LOVE a video of your tools and how you use them! ❤
ОтветитьOhh my Gods, that snake ring is GORGEOUS! 🐍😍 I was just thinking the other day that I need a snake ring - I'm super connected to snakes, and they're just one of my favorite animals! Oh, and it's a hognose snake, too (I looked it up) which is even more interesting! They're a snake that is rear-fang venomous, yet not considered dangerous to people. Anyway, I know that has nothing to do with the topic of your video, but I just thought it was cool! I'm gonna bookmark the site for when I get some extra money ♥
Commenting as I watch 😂
- Journals: I love my journal so, so much, and I use it just like this! I actually just finished filming a video about using a journal as a witch lol we're on the same wavelength again!
- Cauldrons: My cauldron is an integral part of my yearly Hurricane Season ritual. It's easier to carry my cauldron while I walk around the outside of my house with my personal blend instead of an incense stick lol
- Cleansing: Sound is one of my favorites, and my daughter loves to do it with me so she can ring the bell lol
- Candles: I always have candles in my house somewhere. It serves two purposes - witchcraft & storm preparation for when we lose power here in Florida 😅
- Oils: Your oil burner is so, so pretty!
- Cloths: I definitely need to get some better altar cloths. I think they're good for bringing in different energies, too. Thanks for the reminder, because I needed it!
Where to buy that cauldron? I like that it has moon phases instead of the pentagram
ОтветитьI've recently acquired a skunk skull (ethically obtained) and started using it in my practice as a way to repel negative energy in cleansing rituals. It's my first time picking a tool for correspondence on my own without a resource suggesting it. I always feel like I'm not doing things the right way...but now I'm trying to follow my intuition as you and other creators have shown me you can do. So, thank you.
ОтветитьYour eyes are black. .God is king.
ОтветитьI have been practicing for over 20 years and still learning. I loved your tip about writing it down to see how long a spell usually takes. That’s probable half of my hesitation of doing larger spells more .
ОтветитьThanks for the post 😊😊The journal was very nice that was showed.
ОтветитьWe have the snake as part of our health symbol for hospital in the Uk 💚 As in the healing association is still remembered and honoured.
ОтветитьLove it
ОтветитьThank you Ivy. Can you do a video on incense? charcoal and how to do it? and where to get it?
Thanks so much
Thank you For your informational video. My wonderful Husband has made me an Altar table from scratch and to me it looks vintage and sacred. 😍🥰 I have a black Sabbat Altar cloth. I feel the same about putting gorgeous sacred things for my Altar. 🌠
ОтветитьThank you?! Yess?!
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video and the other video you recommended at the beginning.
I want to echo something you said back because it flipped a switch for me.... be your own scientist. I too have a science background... grew up in a science based home and have taught science. When you said this, a light went on for me that I think is going to make a huge difference in how I move forward with exploring this spirituality. It makes total sense to me, in a way it didn't before, as to WHY we write things down and with what mindset we so in. Boom!
I've already had some very interesting experiences that stepped outside of that science based mind that I operate in and it will be very helpful to move forward with a "repeat the experiment" mindset.
Thank you! I have just recently discovered you, and although I have had an interest, and have been dipping my toes in to explore, it hasn't been until fairly recently that I've embraced the journey and accepted my path forward. I can already tell that I will be dedicated time to studying your content. It speaks to my style and I'm enjoying what little I've already seen.
These are all such great suggestions! I love my cauldron so much, it's definitely my most used tool. I don't know why it just dawned on me that I can also draw on it with chalk! Just another way to layer correspondences and intention into whatever I'm doing :)
ОтветитьLoved this video
ОтветитьTool tour, please! Thanks
ОтветитьThnks for the vid. Re; candle carver. i use a knitting needle and it works awesome!!
ОтветитьThanks again Ivy !!
Also wow on the jewlery !!!
