Yup, it's not that people choose vegetarianism or choose to eat meat. It's the forcing to do the same that's the problem.

It is because Catholics and Protestants do not understand the Bible correctly about eternal marriage that the Book of Mormon teaches there are only two churches.

When the Lord gives our prophet President Nelson a message to give to the members, we can choose to accept that message or not.
The Lord instructed the 3 to go and give the message to the Shakers.

But I also believe it’s important to have the spirit with you.

Around 15 min, the city of Salem was also taken into Heaven, along with possibly other people and cities as well throughout history!

You could also say marriage is the rule. Polygamy and monogamy are the ways the Lord has given at different times to allow his children to be married. Polygamy is given when there are not enough righteous husbands (outlined in D&C).

Satan always tries to corrupts the gospel doctrine, Christ has to always remind us of the true gospel and not be full by the enemy.

The shakers diet was more than a vegetarian diet, the Shakers believed in total abstinence from eating flesh, like celibacy was total absence. The shakers would rather die than eat meat. For this belief they were not ordained of God. Because the Lord said in D&C 89 and elsewhere that eating meat is there to sustain life: in cases of winter, cold or famine.

* and “these” hath God made for the use of man only to be used in famine and excess of hunger. Because of the similarity to vegetarianism the Lord clarified that meat is ordained to save life if in the need thus making the Shakers idea of totality - outside the box the Lord ordained.

I tend to err on the side of the Saints here. There are many who will reject the truth but it must be preached anyway. I am reminded of Abinadi. He was commanded to preach to a people who would reject and kill him. Yet his words were essential and helped awaken one man.

I do like breaking up the videos! It gives us time to ponder a few things at a time and not become overwhelmed or get distracted. Even adults have a short attention span 😂 the videos are great and my husband and I are learning so much. Thanks for all your hard work and for sharing some of the spiritual gifts God has given the two of you 😁

I don't think it would have made any difference how the gospel was presented to the Shakers. They weren't ready for it. The whole experience was an indulgence for Leman Copley's request. He, like many converts, wanted to bring his loved ones into the faith, but alas, for many converts, that never happens.

They wouldn't have received the Lord's message either way it was given. The Lord's sheep hear his voice

Regarding verse 21 and hunting, killing and wasting the flesh is also contrary to the laws of man. If you shoot a deer and let it rot, even if you have a deer tag you have broken the law.
