I Love Judas Priest and Scott is great drumer...
BRASIL.
That was such a great interview!!!! So much to learn from Scott Travis, incredible drummer, incredible person. Love the episode 👏👏👏
ОтветитьVery bad drummer for Judas Priest.
ОтветитьWhat a great human being ! I wish Scott health and I wish see him on Racer X world tour !
ОтветитьNice to here you mention your old friends back in Norfolk. Rock on Daddio !
ОтветитьDown to earth is the word that comes to mind.
ОтветитьI was hoping someone had asked him about Junna's cover of Painkiller.
ОтветитьI'm curious what's his diet - he always looks like 0% bodyfat, which is impressive. I highly doubt that he's taking something, bc he doesn't have much muscle mass, so it would be pointless, to take stuff just anti fat 🤔
ОтветитьSuper happy to see Scott doing the talk finally 🤠
ОтветитьNever liked him
ОтветитьI watched Scott's instructional video when I started playing around 1986. To this day I went back a watched it again. Because I still have things he said, ingraved in my mind. Thank you Scott and congrats on 32 years with the Priest. I seen JP 5 times.
ОтветитьGreat interview! What a fantastic guy. Absolutely humble for such an amazing talent .
ОтветитьGrande batera do Judas Priest.
ОтветитьHe was incredible with RACER X, his double bass was really up there with some of the best but yeah before Priest/Mr Big they were just playing clubs, flipping burgers and giving lessons...super talented but super poor. I read a long time ago that Jeff Martin helped him get the gig with Priest, Jeff was close with Rob, the intro to Painkiller is timeless!
ОтветитьOlder metal musicians are such cool cats , really intelligent, well spoken and interesting, thanks for this great interview!
ОтветитьHad to look up what playing to a click exactly was, really interesting, had no idea that’s what they do for playing live
ОтветитьSooooo gut 🔥🫶🏻
ОтветитьSuch anb underrated drummer!
ОтветитьTnx to Scott, every time I'm sitting behind the table, I take 2 wooden spoons or whatever and try Painkiller intro lol. I love that he's exactly here as I expected him to be.
ОтветитьThis guy is so cool and he makes playing the drums look so easy.
ОтветитьNot taking anything from previous drummers but scott brought balls to the priest!!!!
ОтветитьScott is such an underrated drummer, i think his tenure in Racer X was mind blowing, it put him on the map
ОтветитьExcellent interview! His answers are so well thought out. Scott Travis is the guy who made me a huge fan of double-bass drumming. Great guy, great drummer, great interview! Thanks so much for posting this!
ОтветитьI was already a fan of Racer X (being a Paul Gilbert student). When I heard Scott was joining Judas Priest, I thought man this is gonna be good. Then he comes out blazing on the first song unaccomplished—-blew away all my high expectations. That’s the sign of an extraordinary musician!
ОтветитьINTO THE PIT!!!!!
ОтветитьAbsolutely One of the greatest metal drummer of all time🔝🔝🔝
ОтветитьLegend...saw him 3 times
ОтветитьThoughts on the Richard Christy Death Painkiller drums? He later ended up on The Howard Stern Show.
ОтветитьLeather Rebel! 🤘
ОтветитьI have the weirdest Scott Travis story. Back in 2019 I was on a work trip in Denver. Got to the Marriott hotel downtown and had some time to kill before the meeting started that evening. Walked out of the hotel just to wander around and see the city. Walking right towards me was a really tall dude with long hair with his wife/girlfriend. I realized it was him and as he passed I said "Hey, Scott!" He turned and stopped. Turns out Judas Priest was supposed to be playing Denver that night but the show was canceled/postponed. He was super-friendly. He seemed entirely surprised that I recognized him and chatted with me for a while. Totally cool and completely unexpected.
ОтветитьEveryday when I sit down at the kit. I run through Painkiller at least once in my workout! It's a fucking staple in my woodshedding! Scott Travis is a Beast!
ОтветитьScreaming For Vengeance was 1982 Scott...lol
ОтветитьThe best drummer in HEAVY METAL!!
ОтветитьYOU ARE AMAZING TRAVIS... Thank you so much for AAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL
ОтветитьI just worked their show in St.Louis as a stagehand Sunday. Got to Stand right back stage and Watch Travis play! Awesome show!
ОтветитьJust saw ya tonight with priest. Damn that snare sounds amazing
Ответить33 years ago when I first listened to the Painkiller album and fell in love with Judas Priest
ОтветитьFantastic session - thank you.
Scott - you are the man!
Great drummer and great guy🤘🥁
ОтветитьHaving seen Priest MANY times, I think Richie Faulkner, Scott Travis, Ian Hill and of course Robert Allouicious Halford, are the BEST sounding, incredibly energizing and I haven’t Air drummed like that in a long time. Dragonaut, live battle cry. Listen on your best cans, your best DAC, or decoding device, hold the cans to your ears with your hands, just a little tighter, and just listen. Then watch the video with the aforementioned cans………. Try to not air Floyd faulkners 3rd bar. I dare you. If you say your not air drumming, guitaring and singing on this track, you sir, are a filthy pirate liar. While KK is awesome, Richie Faulkner is the kind of guitarist I wanted to grow up to be.
ОтветитьDios del la Batería del Heavy metal JUDAS PRIEST...🤘🤘💪💪🤘🤘🤘🔥
ОтветитьThank you so much for the interview, and thank you Scott. When Scott is saying that you have to be true to the first recording of the song, i can´t agree more, and i also thinking that about the melodyline of the song and of course guitar riffs as he is saying. I did listening to Judast Priest before Scott, but when Painkiller came out i was.. What!! I really loved the great playing and when it´s breaks down to a straight double bass drum groove it just hit me.. very elegant with a very nice beat. I did dig RacerX and was so impressed by the drummer and his bassdrum technic, so se him joining JP was fantastic. This year i def. go to hear the band if they shows up nearby. The last record is damn good.
ОтветитьI just wanna say thanks to Scott for all the years of fantastic music, and his dedication to metal in general. Obviously a drumming legend, and a super cool guy to boot. The one thing that allways struck me is how easy he makes it look.
ОтветитьRacer X
ОтветитьHe is a great guy. He went out of his way to give my son his drum sticks after a show.
ОтветитьScott is one of the best drummers out there. The way he plays, what he gets out of his drum kit is just amazing.
ОтветитьMr. Travis is the BADDEST OF THE BADASSES! Love your style !
ОтветитьEven though he plays "for the song" usually, he is responsible for two "hit songs" thanks to his drum intros that are instantly recognizable. Scarified is likely as popular amongst musicians as Painkiller. Even Paul Gilbert had to acknowledge Scarified was "his hit song", but it is the drum riff that makes these tunes. For me, the sound of "loud and clear" live left an impression that lingers today. I wish all drum kits sound like that. But I am just a guitar player.
