Ugly as sin, but I guess they have a certain appeal.
ОтветитьI remember those tractor engines heaving to life. Reliable yes. Smooth? No. Old and hard to find parts for.
ОтветитьBuy it!!!!!
ОтветитьI can already smell the interior
Ответить🇸🇪🇸🇪love Volvo’s 😎. I’m a Swede, and I live nearby Gothenburg where Volvo are built. They are indestructible!
You could easily drive them up to 500.000km/ if you do regular maintenance. 🤘🤘🇸🇪😎
The reason they call it Volvo Brick.
ОтветитьCertainly not a modern Volvo
And by that I mean I would buy a Volvo of this era but I wouldn't buy a new one
The 240, 740 and 940 are indestructible. Especially the naturally aspirated ones
ОтветитьBut the turbo cars are more fun and you can get more power very easy with them
ОтветитьI’ve had 3 940s. And all of them have been driven over 500000km:)
ОтветитьOver the course of 20 years, I've had 15. The highest mileage (and one of the cleanest ones i had) was 680k
ОтветитьPer a former Volvo mechanic, the bodies of the cars are sent through a chemical bath to make them resistant to rust before being painted. If you ever see rust on a Volvo it is because said panel was replaced due to a crash or other incident that caused it to need replacing.
ОтветитьMy mum had one for 10 years. Good car.
ОтветитьWe called it "Stridsvagn S"... Tank model S...😊
ОтветитьThere's no such thing as Reliability in a modern car, It's just hopes and dreams that an error code doesn't appear and Electric Cars run on Political Promises.
Ответитьwhile it is a great car, it's a dog to drive, love older cars but modern cars are just so much better rolling chassis, let alone better Automatic transmissions ad throttle control systems, they are great for style driving but daily, in today's traffic, is a nightmare.
Ответитьyou too can have one for $12k
ОтветитьReminds me of my first car. 1999 Toyota Corolla. No power windows or doors. Radio, AC, wheels, engine. The most basic car you'd see on the road during its time. And I loved it.
The only thing I had to do was change the starter on mine, which took me about 20 minutes. And after that, she just kept going until I unfortunately had to sell her because I was moving away, and couldn't take her with me.
Then I get a Volkswagen, and that thing was an electronic nightmare. Lights flashing all the time, engine will refuse to start due to "security" system in the ignition, yuk. Yeah, didn't have that thing long. That's why I prefer older cars.
Just give me an engine, wheels, radio and AC, and I'm all good.
Volvo B20 engine, runs and runs and runs!
ОтветитьYou got to love German cars the only bad thing about German cars is all the electronics are very expensive to fix when they break
ОтветитьNice vid!
ОтветитьLemme break out the dolly + hammer set, hand-sander block with 80 grit, DA sander with 220, and 320 grit and some 3M body filler and it's an easy fix (exterior body damages) Imo
Ответитьi think if I had the money I'd absolutely be asking you where this is and how much they want
ОтветитьA friend of mine had one. Only real issues it gave was electrical problems. Got that figured out, and off it went back into the wild.
ОтветитьYour right. Nice car
ОтветитьLight damage on the driver side was probably caused by hitting a train
ОтветитьUtterly hideous
ОтветитьWe have a 940 turbo and 240DL wagon in our family, I drive a 740GL and I love every minute of it. And the door chime sounds just like mine.
ОтветитьSave her 😢
ОтветитьAs I now living in the balkans the VW golf 2 is known for never breaking down or staling in winter
Ответить145k is when the odometer stopped working
Don't forget to jiggle the key, otherwise half the electronics and gauges won't work. Oh, and don't forget to make sure the radio suppression relay connections are good, y'know, because that controls the entire ignition system.
And the plastic dash creaking, squeaking, gloveboxes that won't stay shut..... But hey, I drove one 500 miles on a blown head gasket until it eventually hydro locked after sitting for a minute.
Excellent car! I had one until I used a petrol can borrowed from y landlord. Apparently he had used it for water but never told anyone. Thanx Nick, not!
ОтветитьThat's a lovely candidate for a V8 swap!! Shoe horn in a Ford 302 V8, drop in the rear end of the V8 explorer from a junkyard and you're good to go!!
ОтветитьStraight out of family guy
ОтветитьSo if you bought it and got a scrapper in the same colour , obviously with the drivers side doors in decent nick.. yiu could make o e great car
ОтветитьThey build shit like this any more where’s wet belt and egr on this
ОтветитьFor the love of Volvo save it!
ОтветитьBest car ever
ОтветитьCurrently drive an 82 ! Differenct injection and igntion than the one shown here but unbeatable no doubt
ОтветитьThe immortal brick lives
ОтветитьHell with a little cash and tlc you could probably flip that thing and make a couple grand
ОтветитьKnown for wiring issues as well
ОтветитьBest car
ОтветитьVolvo 240 is a Tank.
Ответить"No, no, I said it's guaranteed to get you TO a date."
ОтветитьWho else peeping that Outback right next to it 👀
ОтветитьThe emissions are not great for the environment.
