Thank you so much Lisa!! :D
I started out with pastels and love how fast and smooth they blend out. Unfortunately, they are messy and not for traveling.
This looks very interesting- it will be worth to try out!
where can i get the sanded paper for color pencil for using the powder blender?
ОтветитьDoes the texture fixative work with wax based pencil and paint thinner?
ОтветитьThank you so much for all the info. I bought the powder a while ago and have not used it yet. I did not know it came as a kit... Can you just use the powder to blend? I lowered the speed of the video and your voice is slower. You are very bright and speak so fast, that sometimes I forget to breathe lol. I really enjoyed this video.
ОтветитьYou are lucky, Lisa, to have this product and so many others!!
Here, in the Middle East, we hardly get stuff!! Still living the Cave Era!
The one that you said didn't work on the absorbent paper is still quite beautiful. I love the texture in the in the grey sky. Great video. Thanks.
ОтветитьHi Lisa, I am not sure I understand the need for the powder blender, especially on sanded paper. I purchased some but did not receive a blending tool with it, I guess I needed to purchase the kit from Brush and Pencil. I am working on quite a large piece and following your instruction I laid down the first layer of background pencil and then using a wide flat brush, added the powder blender. To my horror most of the pencil I put down came off, it was as dusty as pastels. I added more color then just used my finger to rub the color into the paper and smooth it out. This also made a mess but it was far less than with the powder blender. I watch your videos, particularly the portrait of the girl with flowers and you seem to get great coverage on your background with very little mess. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?
ОтветитьFinally managed to get hold of the powder in the UK, just waiting for it to be delivered! :)
Ответитьwill that fixative work on pan pastels?
ОтветитьHi, I've just watched this video and was wondering how you put your gesso on with any brush marks and make it look smooth?
ОтветитьCould one use a piece of foam rubber or a small foam paint brush to blend it out?
ОтветитьI really love your tutorials. Thanks for posting them. What brand of sanded paper do you use? Thanks.
ОтветитьAlright so I just purchased uart 400 grade sanded paper, oderless paint thinner, and powder blender but I only have caran d'ache luminance colored pencils, would I still get that airbrushed stroke free look with these wax based colored pencils?
ОтветитьI would love to try this but the shipping to the US will cost a lot of money,so i'll stick to the mineral spirits for now, hopefully they'll get this in the US soon.
Ответитьwhat brand is that white pencil that you were using towards the end with the lilac body?
ОтветитьIf you dont like pastels sticks try pan pastel. Probably you will be able to achieve a better look on that background and it will take you a lot of less time than blending colored pencils. Regards from Chile, IG: @pintura_pastel_chile
ОтветитьThank you Lisa, i was using it wrong too, so now i am looking forward to try it again. The only problèm i have is the can of fixative broke alter a caple Time using it. 🙁
ОтветитьLove your channel! Just found this totally unique technique. I'm a little confused as to when and where you stopped to spray. How often did you actually spray?? Thanks so much!!
Ответитьcould you pls sell it on ebay?
ОтветитьPlease can you suggest another product as well as I am unable to get this product shipped to my location. Thanks
ОтветитьCan you use the fixative in just an ordinary coloring book, without the blender and stuff?
ОтветитьThere might have been someone who already made this statement, but I just tried Pablo's, Luminance and Poly's on Fisher 400 paper and they blended without the powder blender just fine. I used a softt tool for it. Am I missing something. I mean I have the powder blender and it works as well, but with this paper, the pencils blend without the use of the powder, so what is the advantage of using the powder? Seriously, I haven't done a whole picture with the paper, so maybe there is something that comes up after a layer or two that makes the powder essential. Anyone who has experience with what I'm asking? Thanks!
ОтветитьCould you use this stuff on a gessobord or claybord?
ОтветитьHi Lisa, I know this video is kinda old. I was curious as time has gone by, if you find this method better or rather more enjoyable than using oms.
Are you investing more in polychromos now, inc. White & Cream (2 colors that I would have to invest in for extra - pending I like the method of brush blender, tex. Fix, ect.). Thanks in advance
Hi
I've just bought the powder blender. Using it on Mi Teintes Touch... It blend the colors - but it also REMOVES A LOT of color...... do you have an idea, what the problem could be? I'm SO sad.... :'(
So, I've just run across this video. It's two years later, are you still this excited about the product? It looks like a miracle, and I have issues with my hands and pain. I had to cut back on my pencil work because of this. Just curious if you're still loving it! TIA for any input you might be able to provide. Happy holidays!🎅🕎
ОтветитьHello, Lisa I just purchased this Blending Powder. You mentioned that all texture sprays are acrylic base or someone did in the now 40+ videos I have watched since I ordered the supplies. My question is can the SpectraFix Fixative work for this it is claimed to be all natural formula or is that brand even worth purchasing to try if you have any experience with it, or is another Fixative available by now I can use? I waited so long before I received the materials thanks to shipping blunders I am now once bitten twice shy about ordering from Brush and Pencil through Blicks, and Amazon, they both lost my orders and could not track the locations 1 for 4 days the other for 5 days BUT they received payment ever so promptly and so politely asked me to give them the time required to locate my orders before issuing my refunds. Do I absolutely need to Gesso my paper or can I use Canson watercolor paper, The lot I purchased well it has this surface that droplets of water bead up for a short time before soaking in? I was just so eager to try and use this product after I watched your hands perform such lovely miracles on this project, but do not recall you stating in projects since after if other papers or materials can be used or omitted altogether. I was unaware at the time of purchase that I ABSOLUTELY MUST use the texture spray from Brush and Pencil and Gesso, sadly I am one of those people who dive in head first off a cliff into a lake, hit the bolder that all before missed, just below the surface, than ask questions why was I not told about this before I jumped...lol. You truly are so very gifted I try to watch all your live broadcasts and repeatedly go to the patron site of yours. I find what you claim in videos to be as close to 100% correct as anyone can be I trust you implicitly.
ОтветитьI'm a mere hobby colorist, but may I say how relieving it is that a professional artist like yourself also finds doing skies tedious? I swear, the next time I have a sky, I may print the line art with the sky already light blue. Since I'm just coloring for my own amusement, I can do this. ;-D
ОтветитьWonderful
ОтветитьIt's not on Amaon.
ОтветитьReally interested in the Luminance white. Does it work well on top of Prismacolors or wax based pencils ? I know the exact frustration you talk of when you mention leaving gaps for white. I have grey paper so I'm in even worse shape !! Hoping the Luminance white is the fix !! Love your vids and your work BTW. Very informative
ОтветитьI love seeing ur videos I be inspired is like I cant stop drawing I neva felt like this eva
ОтветитьI am just the same when I love a product, it seems like I'm selling it too!
ОтветитьWhat’s textured spray?
Ответить...H0w bout that easle! IS that stainless?
ОтветитьWHAT DID SHE SAY?? My ears don't hear as fast as she talks. She is great, I think;)
ОтветитьHi Lisa, thank you for making this wonderful descriptive video (i'm going to try this product today as it has recently arrived from Jackson's) Please can I ask you why you didn't choose to use a blue toned sanded background and then use a white base layer for the bird (as your bird subject uses such a small space on the canvas) I am very curious. Please note that I am not an pencil artist (in fact I am just starting out using coloured and pastel pencils but I previously was a professional professional photographer/graphic designer) I also love this video so much because as a photographer I like to use a low f1.4 - f2.8 lens which produces the creamy blurred (bokeh) background so my subjects 'pop' out of my photographs and I didn't think I could reproduce this without using pastels. For my main wildlife subjects, I really want them to be sharp as you can with the polychromos pencils. I have watched and enjoyed your excellent video several times over (man you talk quickly for my old UK ears lol) Many thanks again, I can't wait to try this.
ОтветитьWhat sorcery is this!? I am just a wee bit confused about the white pencil. Does it show up because of the powder blender, or is this a different kind of white colored pencil altogether?
ОтветитьIt’s been a few years since you posted this & I’m curious if you’re still happy with it & if you’re still working with it?
ОтветитьYou are a kind and generous women for your time your talent and loyalty to your students. Thank you
ОтветитьWhats the powder blender made from?
ОтветитьBeautiful!!!
ОтветитьJust a polite note: the titanium white is not “non-toxic. The label clearly reads that the contents have cancer-causing agents.” Just saying….
ОтветитьHi Lisa, I love your videos and have learnt a lot from them. I am about to start using pencil and brush products and I am looking forward to that. However a big problem is that i have invested heavily in drawing paper like Clairefontaine Pastelmat, and Strathmore drawing paper. Are these B&P products compatible with these papers? Is there any way that they can be treated so that they can be use, I think I read somewhere that clear acrylic gesso can be use to add tooth to certain papers?
ОтветитьGirl I agree with you on this powder blender... I don't like messy medias either.
THIS might be a great idea for me, "color pencils & powder blender". 🤔
