London Author Andrew Segal talks to Dr Shahnaz Ahmed from Living a life through books USA, talking about his life and his experiences in life that propelled him forward into becoming a crime thriller writer and just launching his new book The Lyme Regis Murders.
Can Innocence ever be an Incentive to Murder?
This was the question local author Andrew Segal asked himself when embarking on his latest crime thriller, The Lyme Regis Murders, hardback launching 5th November.
“Coming face to face with a contract killer encouraged me to become a writer,” says Andrew
“The inspiration began, when I was a young boy. I remember watching a contract killer being interviewed on BBC T V. How they got hold of him I shall never know. But there he was, quietly telling us all that after a murder, he enjoyed a sense of peace and tranquillity. Many years later, I found myself driving in an unfamiliar district, unable to find my way, I gave a lift to an old man who offered to show me the route in return for a ride. He was extremely chatty, boastfully telling me that he’d, ‘Been away, for ten years,’ and that he’d, ‘Done it, Mate. Done it for the Krays.’ That’s right, a contract killer in my car”.
