Thx for sharing the historic building of Singapore. It's very interesting
ОтветитьYou missed out a few older, smaller but equally significant buildings, like
1. Sri Manimian Temple, built in 1827
2. Masjid Jamea (or Chulia), built in 1826
3. Lau Pa Sat, built in 1894
4. Nagore Durgha, built in 1828
It's a same that the historic face of Singapore was demolished in 1960-1980
ОтветитьIn vietnam we also have Chinese old house like that but most of them are destroyed by war.
ОтветитьSultan Mosque in kampong glam,,, the most beautiful and historic building in singapore
ОтветитьBasically all foreigner looking buildings from Europe and china. Strange
Ответитьparang pinas pero mas maganda at malinis yan
ОтветитьCorrection: Peranakan refers to decendants of other non-regional ethnic group mixed with the regional malays. There are also Peranakan India. Peranakan is a Malay word which mean "successor of the generation" or "decendants" of interacial marriage. Nothing in it suggest that it must only be of Chinese decendancy. Here you are not even mentioning Malays in the description of Peranakan when it is their word, their place! Can we please stop sino-cifying everything about southeast Asian. I'm getting sick listening to all these appropriation. We are not Chinese!
ОтветитьNice to know you👍
ОтветитьThanks. My Grandfather was Frank Dorrington Ward who designed the Supreme Court. After the war he built a small cottage in the south of England that we used to visit when I was a kid, but that was demolished for flats a few years ago. Would love to visit Singapore.
ОтветитьLove these historical heritage buildings......... rare treasures.
ОтветитьThank you for the video. It was great!
I'm from Oz and find the old side of cities often far more interesting and 'up my ally' than modern hotels etc. I am researching to see if when I visit Singapore, I can get accomodation in the old part of town plus if there's enough to do there. It sounds like getting about by push bike is a good way to travel. And I like the sound of that.
Weird, are the same of Brazil, Cuba, USA, Canada, NY, San Francisco, Spain etc etc etc...Some explanation?
Thanks!!!
Thank you for this presentation! Indeed, Singapore does preserve a vast array of heritage and historic architecture reflecting our very eclectic cultures. Our global outlook does stem from colonial days when East, West and everything in-between gathered here to make a living and leave an indelible and colourful imprint today.
ОтветитьBasically this shows Singapore has no architecture and culture of its own, these are all architectures from Europe, China and Malaysia. Where is the indigenous Malay architecture and historic buildings? There's dozens in Singapore yet none of them are on this video.
ОтветитьBest in the entire solar system - as decreed by PAP
ОтветитьDo you have an interesting or favourite historic building in Singapore?
