Old man Joe Kennedy was known to be outwardly racist. Being the oldest son, Joe Jr must have picked it up from him. Thankfully, it didn't seem to be passed on to his younger siblings who seemed to be indifferent about race at worst, when they were young, then becoming champions of Civil Rights in their adulthood.
Yes, Joe Jr may have been "a man of his time" about race to an extent, but his non-Working Class background is what let him down. A white person from a Working Class background in America, may have been racist too, but more so in a "You're not going to marry my daughter" sort of way, than a "You don't know what you're talking about, & it would be silly of me to even listen" sort of way. A Working Class white American wouldn't have been so quick to have completely dismissed the professional opinion of a black person, because many of them worked with black people, so they knew, that Blacks were quite capable of having a valid, common sense opinion.

I guess Heath Robinson was to Britain, like Rube Goldberg was to America, except Rube Goldberg's inventions remained cartoons as far as Rube Goldberg was concerned? I imagine, they may have inspired some wacky inventions or even competitions with a Rube Goldberg theme.

I remember doing a radio wave propagation test in Germany in 1990. The portable transmitter w/ it's antenna needed to be high up for the test. Germany didn't have many tall structures outside of big cities, so I had to do a test from high up in a flour mill one time. There was the smell of microscopic particles of flour in the air. I remembered reading or hearing about flour & sugar mill explosions, so I hesitated a bit, then I turned on the transmitter. Fortunately, it didn't go BOOM! Even though it had less than 30 watts effective radiated power, it was foolish of me to not simply cancel the test & find a safer location, as there's a lot of luck, good & bad, about the conditions needed for a grain mill explosion.
Whenever I hear about the MOAB & FOAB bombs utilizing grain mill explosion technology, I shudder to think about what might have been, when I foolishly switched on the transmitter in that German grain mill so many years ago.

The US Army Air Corps recovered over 200 V-2's and at least a couple Horten Ho-229 flying wing jet aircraft during Code Name Operation Overcast (Operation Paperclip) in 1945. The captured V-2's were immediately started launching at White Sands in 1946. The first photograph of Earth from space was with a modified V-2. It took the Army Air Corp, becoming the Air Force in 1947, ten years to reverse-engineer the V-2 so that it could be entirely manufactured and assembled in the USA. The design and manufacture of the V-2 took the Germans only 3 years, from 1941 to 1944. Peenemunde started being bombed in 1943 and the Germans had already moved V-2 production to Mittelwork, where the captured V-2's were found. Also found was the A-1, the Amerikaner Rocket which was designed to carry the A-9, a stratosphere rocket plane designed to carry a nuclear "dirty" bomb to be dropped on New York. The Boeing 707, the first swept wing passenger jet was built from German Workers Nationalist Socialist Party engineering drawings. There was a lot more found that is still classified.

Having worked in Nigeria with a mixture of Europeans and Nigerians on deep sea diving projects, where peoples lives depend on the abilities of the group involved, I can understand the reservations and concerns of Joe Kennedy, no racism is required to make that judgement call,
To pretend otherwise is simply ideological virtue signalling.

I thought the v3 site had, unknown to the allies, already been destroyed by a RAF tallboy went down one of the barrel shafts and exploded underground. That was the tragedy, the operation was pointless.

My great uncle Hubert was involved in the planning of these flights. He was an explosive and fuse expert from the Air Ministry, and I found his notebook containing many cuttings from post-war articles about Kennedy's final flight. Uncle went to Germany in April 1945 and entered the underground V2 factory at Nordhausen with the US Army. They had 3 weeks to remove all the rockets they could manage before the area was handed over to the Russians. Uncle later helped gather V2s from the British zone for use in operation Backfire.

The US still has its own legacy of degenerate National Socialist policy and people now mixed with degenerate ultra-Woke progs. Certainly a schizoid nation of Extremists. I use the terms accurately.. And they don't half drone on globally, in all senses, and support so many Nazti factions, historically. I'm always amazed they fought against Hitler, except Germany owed their Bankzters so much money.

A couple of summers ago I was researching my family tree and visited the village of Blythburgh in Suffolk, as several generations of my ancestors lived and are buried there. I think Kennedy’s plane blew up somewhere near the village, as Blythburgh church contains a small memorial to Joe and this particular mission.

I remember reading about this many years ago and thinking that this is an example where a random static spark changed the possible future of the world. This is where quantum effects may have split our timeline (for proponents of the multiverse theory). Without that real world application of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle (sorta...not really....but you know what I mean), with that possible random spark either happening or not, meaning human history may have taken very different paths.
