I’ve always thought of you as an artist! Thank you for all of the inspiring and nervous system soothing content! You were one of the first people I started my bullet journaling experience with early 2020 and I looked forward to your content immensely and completely enjoyed the break from my own reality while watching your work. I went to a hobonichi set up in 2023, I also use Notion. I annotate the heck out of all my books now(thank you for making it ok!) and I’m picking up my old childhood hobby of sewing after years away from it. I’m still here for any content you produce and wish you all the very best! Thank you for so many years of top quality out put. You are a huge success! ❤
ОтветитьYou are 10000% an artist and you've definitely helped me a lot. I've watched your channel for longer, but i started bullet journalling myself in 2020. I was still in highschool at that time and the lockdown version of that was that we got all the tasks for that week on monday morning and they were all due on Friday evening, so i needed a system to plan out my week. Now i'm in uni and your rolling weekly is still helping me a lot. So thatnk you for helping me find a system that works for me.
The reason i bullet journal is because i just can't find a planner that has what i need (because why does every planner ever have the exact same layout?????), so in my brain using a planner isn't really bullet journalling, but who cares. You should do what works for you and you can call it whatever the hell you want. No offence, but i'm not that invested in your life that your word choice on that regards offends me 🤣🤣.
As for the changing seasons of life thing, i've been really wanting to get back into playing the violin, but i've been struggling. I started playing when i was 6 and then quit when i was 14. I miss it and whenever i am playing i love it, but i've been really struggling with doing it consistently, which makes me a little sad
Weekly, monthly, bullets, reviews.... Your obviously bullet journalling
whateever look it has.👍
And i think you know "second brain" as Tiago Forte defines it.
I have followed your videos for a while because I used to have a bullet journal that was my creative outlet. You inspired me a lot on that. And I fully relate on everything you said. I stopped bullet journaling a few months ago, mostly because the creative outlet wasn't good enough anymore. So I started a sketchbook instead to fully learn how to draw like I always wanted to, and it makes me really happy.
It was really nice to hear your experiences, makes me want to continue working on my creativity and things that makes me happy. 🩶 Thank you for that video 🩶
Also I fully relate, I need to write some stuff on paper. I don't know why but I get lost if I don't physically write some certain things.
Can’t wait to see the new adventures you’re going to take us on.
ОтветитьThis is such a bittersweet moment. On the one hand, I am sad that I don't get to see any new bujo content from you, but on the other hand I am so happy for you for going with the flow and not letting enjoyment slip away from your creative hobbies! 💗
I first started bullet journaling in 2023, after more than a year of following different bujo content creators, knowing that it would be the perfect hobby and planning system for me. I was a student back then, and in my country, the artistic bullet journal supplies are not very accessible. There aren't any 160 gsm notebooks (we can only order from abroad), and markers, etc are very expensive, so that's why I waited for so long, before finally committing to it. So I started bullet journaling when it was starting to drastically lose popularity and so many of my beloved content creators were saying goodbye. Nevertheless, I'm still so excited about my bujo, it has changed my life in the best way possible, and I'm in the golden era of my bujo journey.
Having done this for 8 years you can see as a big succes!
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Funnily, I went through exactly the same change! I started a PhD and noticed I was using my bullet journal less creatively because I did not make enough time to create beautiful spreads, so they became more minimal, and I missed creating art. Additionally, I noticed I wanted pre-made spreads just to have this safety net for times where I was extremely busy.
So I bought a planner in October and am trying out to combine it with notion, where I organize my PhD, and with Google calendar, where I organize most important events in a shared calendar with my partner.
I also wanted a vertical weekly layout, so I am using a "Pareto planner" and a couple of years ago I also tried the "Leuchtturm vertical weekly". I really want to try the one you showed next, because I think this layout is more what I was looking for.
I would be very interested in you sharing how you personalize your calendar/bujo-with-boxes if you want to share it.
I am always looking for inspiration and
have been watching your bullet journal and reading content for years now, just noticed how many spreads I knew from your throwbacks^^ Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas :)
The artistic bujos are often causing stress, and thus the opposite of the intention for the system. I don't know how often I've seen people bellyaching about being 'behind'.
ОтветитьI've watched you for a long time now and was inspired to bullet journal because of you. I loved it but I quickly realized that creating a whole spread from scratch is not something I could keep up with, so I went for planners already made. Even though I started and almost immediately stopped bullet journaling, I stayed because I love art and the art in your journals was always inspiring and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your bullet journals with us and allowing us to see what you've come up with.
ОтветитьThen let me thank you for your video’s about the rolling weekly many years ago! That was a life changer for me in how I wanted to use my planner. And I still use it to this day……
ОтветитьI also have a lot of hobbies and needed so much time, years to be honest, to learn that is a place for them all - and also it's okay to keep most of them on amateur level. I've never be "good" at playing a lyre, because it's a thing I do once a blue moon, but when I'm doing it, that brings me joy.
ОтветитьI discovered Bullet Journalling in my last semester of college, and then you while I was looking for inspo. However, my ability to keep up with setting up a bujo and much less a monthly theme was hit hard with how hectic med school really was. So I went back to traditional planner systems but I still used some of your tracker spreads and the classic bujo style where I can.
You’re a great artist and I can always feel your passion for everything you create and share with us. I can’t wait to join you in this new chapter! ❤
Bullet journaling is after all still a system so even if you bujo in a pre-made planner it is still valid! I appreciate all your Plan With Me videos even if yours were more on the artistic side (i don’t have the talent to recreate haha) but i really have to thank you for introducing the rolling weekly to me - it came to me at a time where i needed it the most, even as my bujo style has changed, it’s something i go back to every now and then ❤
ОтветитьThank you for sharing. You were one of the very first content creators I followed for all things bullet journal and art three years ago, when I was going through a tough time in my life. I learned so much from your creativity and advice. There's absolutely nothing wrong in changing up your channel. We all grow and change and move in different directions throughout our lives. The important thing is showing up as our authentic selves rather than performing just to appease. Thank you for your content and wishing you all the very best in the next phase of your journey. ❤
ОтветитьThank you for sharing! I look forward to seeing what you do next!
On a personal level, I can relate to the shift away from artistic bujo, not because I haven’t enjoyed it, but a combination of less time and motivation. Generally artistic pursuits have taken a backseat and I need to find a way to rediscover them again.
I love the community you created and look forward to the evolution! 💜
I think I've been here for a handful of years. It has been amazing to see your wonderful ideas month after month. I fully understand and support your decision. Take care! :)
ОтветитьI thought you were a book reviewer lol
ОтветитьYou really didn't have to do an "explanation video" to us 😅 I'm happy to follow along this channel wherever it goes and wish you all the best for your artistic pursues ❤❤❤
ОтветитьCongratulations on your new phase/chapter in planning. Can't say I didn't see this coming. Unfortunately I will unsubscribe because I really just watched your plan with me videos because they gave me a lot of comfort, to the point where I genuinely looked forward to the beginning of each month, being excited when your new video would drop. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, wish you all the best. Even though its not that deep, I feel as though I am somehow going through a loss. lots of love.
ОтветитьMy bullet journal is literally just boxes next to what I need to do and then I highlight the little box when I'm done. It's very basic but what I love about it is the book doesn't judge me when I skip a few days or sometimes even a month. And I can use it for however long it takes me to use up the pages, not just a calender year.
Ps. I have grown to love your channel and wherever you go from here, I'm excited to see it.
thank you for sharing and being honest with yourself ❤
Ответить❤❤❤ Good on you for being you!! Love watching from across the Pacific 🇦🇺🏖
ОтветитьI'm more of a Commonplace book keeper, but I do enjoy watching artistic journalist work. I actually started my commonplace Journaling again after many years after watching one of your videos.
ОтветитьHave you heard of Hobonichi? There are hundreds of us that have quit bullet journaling and moved to a dated planner.
Ответитьbullet journals are cool and all, but they were really overwhelming to keep up with when I first started using a planner. As I near my 2nd year living the planning life, I'd be more confident to do it now than before, but I requested a new planner for next year from santa. But I am going to be doing a volunteer position with the local farmers market - that could be a fun time to do a bullet journal.
ОтветитьI think a lot of people lost interest in bujo content as the spreads became so intricate it became impossible to keep up if drawing/painting wasn't your job or your only hobby. Over the years watching monthly setups felt more like watching art videos rather than actual planner content if that makes sense. I still doodle a bit in my bujo when I have time but there are weeks where my weekly spread is just 8 haphazardly drawn rectangles and I'm fine with that.
ОтветитьAs someone who just found your channel less than a month ago and just started bullet journaling two months ago, I am thoroughly loving every video I have seen so far.
I plan on watching all your previous bullet journal videos for inspiration and look forward to watching all your future content!
Thank you for sharing your journey and I am glad you continue to find new interests that you are passionate about! It is absolutely a good thing to learn and grow and change.
I feel like my brain needs variation, so sometimes I bullet journal, and sometimes I use a planner. The thing they have in common is a rapid log/to-do list. And pen to paper, always. Right now I’m in the Sterling Ink Common Planner and loving it.
I feel like it’s far more important that we do whatever works, so I move around as needed.
Also, you’re definitely an artist. ❤
Always watched your videos for you and your personality and have been really loving your book content (our reading taste is lowkey similar apart from the scary ones) After like 5 years of bullet journalling, I've gone from a school student to a working fulltime, I've moved away from a typical bujo system to a combo of journal + bujo + commonplace book and I've been loving it. Still looking forward to your vids but totally understand the shift❤
ОтветитьThis whole thing was a giant ad! Not cool.
ОтветитьI found you through your reading journal content. Looking forward to what the future of your content is!
ОтветитьBring on the sewing videos! I would love to see them
ОтветитьI enjoy watching your videos no matter what it is! I'm excited for seeing different things. I can't wait for the new stuff.🎉😊
ОтветитьI’m going to miss the reading journals so much!
ОтветитьI’ve been watching since the beginning and I was starting around the same time. I’ve evolved to other systems and have a planner with bullet journaling portions, but I’ve always enjoyed your content and I still can’t wait to see what you do!!❤
ОтветитьYou helped me so much during the pandemic .. to stay focused. Centered. Creative. TY.
ОтветитьI found you after my BuJo phase ended while looking for book recs. I have a very similar planning system. Structured paper planner, Boox e ink tablet (I can always find my notes by clients) and Notion/Artful Agenda apps.
ОтветитьI don't like when people try and gatekeep bullet journaling. Are you using what you consider bullet journaling? Is it working? Then that's what you're doing! Congratulations on taking the plunge to try something new that will serve you best! I hope it works out, and as a viewer Im still happy to tune in for whatever you have. I'd much rather see bujo do what's intended (helping you live your life) than see it done as some sort of performative thing.
ОтветитьDid you know that Ryder Carroll’s dad is the great dark magic realism author Jonathan Carroll? I feel like you would really enjoy his books. I adopted your rolling weeklies and I have my own blend of practical and artistic bullet journal. I have a Muji dated vertical now as a supplement but bullet journaling changed my life and habits and I don’t think I could ever give it up, even if my level of art in it varies wildly from month to month. Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos and I really look forward to carrying on watching one of my favourite channels in its new chapter (lol)!
ОтветитьRelated to this so much. I loved bullet journaling for several years. But as you mentioned, things changed and I grew up. I moved over to already-set journals but still kept some aspects of bullet journaling. I still watch og bujo videos every now and then for a nostalgia hit, but it does feel a bit like holding on to something I can't use anymore. All this to say is I totally commiserate. I hope you find happiness in different creative outlets and I want to say a BIG thank you for all the years of creating videos I could bujo along with.
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your truth and your process! This brought up so many feelings and a lot of things that I relate to deeply. I have been here since 2020, and I went back and binged all your Plan With Me videos prior to that while I was waiting for new updates back in that year! Your work finally inspired me to dive into bullet journaling in a way that worked for me.
I'd tried the minimalist approach a few times before. While I respect the origins and the method behind it, I didn't get what I wanted to out of bullet journaling until I started using it as an art form. It pulled me out of a years long art slump, and gave me a mindfulness practice and a safe place to create art just for me. I have always loved a seasonal theme and mood more than anything. I used to love the time I could take to sit down, discover what I was feeling about a coming month, and create art and a blank slate of calendar pages to get excited about it. However, lately, I've fallen off as well. It started by not getting a spread done by the first of a month, and eventually I put my bujo down altogether for longer periods of time.
I'm once again struggling to make art, despite being an artist all my life. I don't know how to break myself of putting immense pressure on myself, especially if I'm going to share something I made. I can't tell you how much I admire you sharing consistently, every month, for 8 years! And in my eyes, you are most DEFINITELY an artist! I will miss the immaculate vibes of your Plan With Me series, but I"m absolutely not going anywhere. Can't wait to see where your interest sparks next and what you share as you're moving forward on this journey. I hope I can find a way to stick to making things I love regularly, without all the self sabotage. Wishing you all the best!!
