Barstool Pizza Review - Sally's Apizza (New Haven, CT)

I just moved to New Haven! Can't wait to try all the great Pizza Places! So far, I've tried Modern, Nick's and Atticus. 163 is probably next...then Sally's. So many pizza places... So little time!

Went to Roseland, Zuppardi's and Sally's this summer. I mainly wanted to try Sally's because of dave's score but my family preferred Roseland so we did our own pizza tour. Out of the three. Roseland was the best, then Zupps, and then way at the bottom Sally's. I don't know if we just caught them on a bad day or something but the best way to describe the taste is weird. Couldn't taste much of any cheese. Was very sauce heavy. Pretty much tasted like a tomato pie. And you have to wait hours to get into the place. Was very underwhelming to say the least

They opened one in Woburn, Massachusetts you should go review it since this was rated the best out of most of your reviews. Everybody knows the rules.

Can anyone tell me where I can get good New Haven in Las Vegas? Appreciate any help.

Update as of last week. I hate to say it but I was so disappointed. Unbelievably disappointed. Love the reviews but they clearly made him a good one. Most likely I’ll never go again.

Sally’s is the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’m from NY got some great pizza shops by me but when I use to do deliveries in CT I would always make my way to Sally’s

Sallys is great but my one nitpick is it takes a bunch of slices to feel full. Overorder and order a head of time if you go. There's nice park a block a way to enjoy it in. Well worth it.

Ok so I went to Sally’s the other day. My opinion… OVER RATED. I gave it a 7.5 Then I went down the block to Pepe’s slightly better at 8.1. No way is New Haven the pizza capital of the world. I can give you 2 pizza shops in Brooklyn and then Manhattan that blows away both.. DaFaro pizza on Ave J and East 15 and Luigi’s pizza on 21st and 5th Ave. NYC you go to Joe’s pizza 7 Carmine St in the west village and John’s pizza 278 Bleecker street. In the 5 Boroughs we have the best foods in the world, and everyone knows it. You want the best pastrami sandwich? You go Katz deli Lower East Side. Not Walnut street USA. You want the best Italian food? You go to Carmines or Rao’s in Manhattan. Not Main Street USA. Nuff said. NYC Pizza Cap of the World! How you doin?
