I lived in Venice in 1970 and next door on a sand lot in a quonset hut lived JJ his mom and step-father Kent Sherwood (a glasser for Dave Sweet) and almost every day he would wait outside our place for us to take him surfing or just sit in the corner of our apartment and peruse old surf magazines rather shy and not saying much....

ОтветитьAs a former gangbanger skaing and surfing saved me and did a lott of it with jay adams rip carnel
ОтветитьGod rest his spirit. His drug use was from emotional pain.
ОтветитьSame age and a skater on the east coast , grew up with Jays pics on my wall. Now I have his book on my dinner table. Traveled a similar road and also found Jesus who saved me and has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams. I found true happiness and success in serving others and Christ. I was so happy to learn that Jay was saved as well. God bless you my brother and all who helped you find peace and the savior of mankind JC. Skate on my friends!
ОтветитьThe most stylish skater to ever set foot on a board
ОтветитьSmoked a little too much meth and murdered one too many people... otherwise an absolute "legend" if you aspire to be a nearly homeless tweaker that abandons his family.
ОтветитьCheck out a photo of his wife he got hitched with before he kicked the bucket. If he was destroyed, how's he managing that?
ОтветитьThe answer to your question would be a astounding, YES!! As Jay told everyone time after time after time. You either get jail or Death. Very few lucky ones come out the other side. I speak from experience.. God bless all the recovering addicts and alcoholics. Amen!
ОтветитьYes, Plus they were all assholes... Stacy was pretty cool and business savy.. But, J and the rest were dick head coke heads by 1987. I met all of them at ST louis SIX flags in 1987.. ok.. it wasn't promoted right. And, Coke was $100 per gram. But, if you assholes wouldn't have been such dick's. You all would have made the $ you wanted too.
ОтветитьMy last day in Venice was body wampin shore break south side Venice pier with Jay. Should post the picture of him from the 1984 center fold surfer mag. Him just leaning back with a big barrel forming just about to get some heavy green room.
ОтветитьJay was indeed one of the biggest influences on skateboarding transitioning from street to pool & ramps.
Jay, Steve Schneer, Christian Hosoi and Gator were the skaters who influenced me as a kid and I'm glad Christian and Jay got right with God, hope Gator is on the right path & gets paroled soon without Newscum revoking it, he's done more than 32 years.
Answer to this skater … Of course it did destroy his life !!
Ответить““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 NLT
🥰🙏
