Another Mystery Radio Delco 1106

This shocked the heck out of me. It's not a "WWII lack of parts retrofit", as is the most common cause of "retrofit bastardization" with electronics items from that era. I seriously don't think that the cabinet was damaged, and cut down to maintain usability. A late 1940's restyling makes the most sense, with no room for a front mounted speaker, it had to go on top. I think that you'll solve this mystery at just about the same time that the world is told the entire truth behind the Kennedy Assassination.

Congratulations on retiring. Whatever you do, never, ever slow down. Of the myriad of missteps which I've made in life, that's by far my worst.

Larry - it would be cool to find out if this was a factory change. To your point, the workmanship is superior and your average Joe would not have made this a frankenstein radio. Keep us posted if learn anything new. Best, Don
