A very recent software update added the ability to customize the function of the left steering wheel knob, which I think fulfilled part of the need of having physical knobs

Why? Over 100 voice commands. Lack of buttons is the best move for the industry. Reducing eyes off road should be the goal for improved safety in this regard.

I just wish there was a mechanical button on the glovebox to open it like on the 2006 lexus is250 because it wouldn’t take away from the minimalistic design and it would be an easy way to open the glovebox

Never once did I miss a hardware button in my Tesla. This is still cool to see such a variety of accessories.

I don’t see the need and I love the minimalist design. You can do all that with the rollers and voice commands. If you really need to get into the screen, use autopilot.
