one of my favorite episodes. but let me say this to that ignorant mom❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ shes a trans girl that clearly passes as a girl. which means hes attracted to girls period. hes straight. if he brought home a feminine BOY then we could say maybe hes bisexual, curious, or simply figuring it out. and if HE feels like hes straight rn then that means he is STRAIGHT. praying black parents and parents in general grow up and HEAL.

i’d rather have a healthy happy child that gets to be themselves, instead of having a dead or estranged child. Black boys lose their lives faster being involved in gang activities and being introduced to drugs and alcohol, so being bi or gay or having a trans gf isn’t gonna ruin your child’s life. what’s even more sad is he felt comfortable and excited to talk to his mom about his gf, just for her to react like she’s in a tyler perry movie when she found out that child is trans. god bless her and i pray the son continues to love that girl if he wants to. that whole “not in my house” thing black parents do needs to be studied and challenged. not in your house? cool i’ll find somewhere to live where im loved and get to be who i am.

being yourself and being loved and comfortable at home is more important than anything. that leads down a long tricky road of mental health problems and a serious lack of emotional control if you make your child shrink themselves, hide their TRUE selves just to spare your feelings. as a parent you’ve failed your child emotionally. no amount of bills you pay, shoes you buy, and sports games you attend can change the fact that your true job as a parent is to LOVE the child you brought into the world. just as they are.

set boundaries of course…..no sex in the house, don’t feel like you have to lie, come to me when your feeling curious so i can guide you away from the wrong things. but to make your child feel bad when they are feeling love for their partner, whether they are in middle school or college is not okay. praying for all kids who are struggling with their identities and relationships with parents.

I love how open and honest amber is !!! Next time take yourself out! Do yourself favors! Love yourself amber god loves you your supporters love you now it’s time for amber to love herself !!
