On the 20th August 2023, MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) ran their Live day, which occurs on the third Sunday of every month. This month's focus was on their collection of heritage trams, resulting in 9 trams operating at a five minute frequency along their tramway which runs between the two museum sites of MOTAT, via Auckland Zoo. The following trams were operating this day:

Sydney Australia/Whanganui NZ (1435mm or 4ft 8.5 inch track gauge)
-Steam Tram No. 100, trialing a compressed wood briquette on behalf of Scion Research.

Auckland NZ (1435mm or 4ft 8.5 inch track gauge)
-No. 248, a Streamliner class from 1938.
-No. 11, a Class B tram, built in England in 1902 for Auckland's first electric tram services
-No.44, a 1906 foul wheeler tram.
The Auckland tram network ran along Great North Rd, which is also paralleled by MOTAT's tramway, hence these trams are running in the area they would have once operated.

Wellington NZ (1219mm, or 4ft track gauge)
-257, a Fiduca tram from 1950, one of the last trams built in New Zealand
-135, a Double Saloon tram from 1921
-47, a double decker 'Big Ben' from 106

Melbourne, Australia (1435mm or 4ft 8.5 inch track gauge)
-893, a SW6 tram from 1944, not withdrawn until 1997
-321, a W2 tram from 1925
-906, a SW6 tram from 1945, on standby for the event

There is also video of a glimpse into the Pumphouse boiler room, with stationary engines in operation.

Hope you enjoy!!
