Gabby Delgado reminds us all to BREATHE in a time when everybody is screaming “I Can’t Breathe” in the streets to honor all the black lives lost to police brutality.
Here’s the full poem titled BREATHE:
“{Breathe}
The physical manifestation of the ID sits in the bunker underneath the giant plethora symbol of what was our democracy while hiding and denying the reflection that is calling out in its front lawn; with tears,
angered by
the frustrating denial of its existence.
screaming out to be heard
screaming out to be whole!!
here is a true manifestation of our time
here is what the mystics and the gurus and the shamans
have all reached that Peak, that pivotal spiritual moment in their lives where they must reach beyond the ego and Beyond the instant gratification and Ego ,itself, is denial of Truth
we must face it.
you must talk this through
you must encounter this
become more to become better
if we die we die.
we were never strong enough to survive.
for those who do survive, those who will survive
those who can survive, have been surviving.
truth is yours.
hold Your Truth.
hold your light
Breathe because you can breathe.
*deep breath*
Breathe for those who can't.
*slow deep breath*
Breathe when its all you can do.
*deep breath*
Breathe when there is nothing left to do.
*slow deep breaths*
Breathe like its your last.”
