I'm terrible at games in general so I was hard stuck low archon, then I played league and stomped golds in 1 week with no coach. There's no comparison in difficulty.

League sucks, when it comes to tier 1 tournament. You need to buy a slot in order to play to that t1 tournament.
Not like dota2. You can join tier 1 tournament from climbing or winning.

I wish League players would actually try Dota and see how much harder it is instead of just disagreeing. Its not a competition, the difficulty of the game doesnt mean its innately better. I prefer Dota 100% as a 10+ year player, and think it offers more counterplay and ways to come back when you’re behind. Thats not to say a day 1 League player wouldn’t enjoy League more bc its more comfortable for them. Just enjoy the game you like more, but you have to respect that Dota IS more complex and challenging in every way, just based on the sheer number of mechanics and interactions that are not even possible in League of Legends.

The thing with league is that it's more of an arcade/action game and dota is a strategy/rpg game

Played both games on release i can fairly say the the two are drastically different but starting at dota going to lol you will have a really good edge dota complexity is to the roof while lol mechanical complexity harder than dota

Honestly I had a similar experience trying to get my LoL playing friend into Dota, he tried a few games of Dota with me, he wasn’t very good and couldn’t intuitively pick up on all the new tiny systems. I went over to LoL with him as he assured me league wasn’t easier and dominated in my first ever match. I used that vampire dude who can turn into a puddle of blood (Vlad? If I remember correctly). Even went on to 1 v 1 him because he couldn’t believe how well I did. I beat him. 😅

My friend yelled at me to stop diving towers when I tried lol. I was 7-0 as his support but "that's not how you play League" 🤷‍♂️ you're getting all the free farm while he walks back to lane for the 7th, 8th time this game, why are you mad?

Agreed that DoTA is way harder than league. I disagree that harder = automatically better game. There are a lot of things in DoTA that just feel clunky, overdesigned, or unresponsive. DoTA for sure has more strategic depth, but I just can't get over the game feel. Going from LoL to DoTA is like getting out of your luxury SUV, walking into NASA and remote-piloting the fucking moon rover. You have massive input delays, nedlessly complex systems like the secret shop and courier, navigating weird-ass destructible terrain with absolutely nightmarish pathfinding, and trying to discern visual effects that are constantly fighting with the environment for visual clarity. I know which game takes more brains, but LoL dunks on DoTA in terms of superior game feel and more satisfying mechanical moments.

I'm more of a League player than a Dota player (played both 1&2) and I think League was definitely designed to be easier to play than Dota to make it more accessible. That's just the reality.
I started playing League when it first came out because I got tired of trying to catch up to my classmates who've been playing Dota for years.
They can make fun of League for being easier but it's also the reason why it has a big player base.

it's because last hitting is an essential skill to master in Dota, not only are you trying to harrass the enemy and survive, you're also trying to deny your creeps while the enemy is trying to deny their creeps. It's a constant battle of trying to gain the upperhand even if it's by a few golds or exp, reach your power spike.

Meanwhile in league it's more of a whoever doesn't get hit by the enemy and hits the enemy more, minions are not much of importance because both enemies have a ton of mana to spam their skills at eachother, resulting in kills>last hits.

In term of popularity, which one have more people played? Just asking because Im not into the gaming scene.

High level lol is much harder both macro and micro. I had top 0.3% in league, one year into the dota and im 7k mmr. Only reason i play dota is im eastern, all my friends play dota
In dota gold and xp for kills overtuned. Whole macro is "wait smoke, kill person". In league you have multiple ways of pkaying, because minions and towers give more resources, and tower are more important for map control
Also, in league mechanics are a lot harder, you literally cant stay lane vs good player no matter what matchup this is. In dota u only need to learn power spikes and trading patterns
But dota has a lot more knowledge and mechanics. Its just harder to remember, but high level league on another lvl

way back when people bet money in LoL. Me and my friends are dota 1/2 players and noone wants to have a bet game with us around our area so we all decided to try LoL. I only play Lux, The mushroom guy that plants mushroom with poison and Ori(i think) all of us has 3 heroes only that we master and started asking League players to do money games. and we started farming League players around our area. I only played Lueage for like less that 100 hours while I have 15k hours in dota but i hate people saying League are low skill players. Enjoy your games, doesnt matter what other people say

The difference in the depth of these two games is out of this world. Non comparable. I switched to LoL one summer cause all my friends were playing it and I was alone in Dota 2. I was better than all of them within a week. And im not even a pro at dota. I'm in the low immortals in ranked. It is ridiculous how easy that game seemed after years of dota

2. Deny creeps

I feel like any experienced Dota player can become good at League in a minuscule amount of time.
While even the best League players would struggle significantly with Dota mechanics.
