This could literally be said about any project. There are pros for everything. The pros were newbies at one point too.
ОтветитьUnless you drive an exotic, who cares.
ОтветитьI haven't gotten quotes yet, but from everything I've heard, there's way more than $250 difference. Make it closer to a thousand. Too bad you're a good 5 hour drive away from NY
Ответитьi had mine professionally installed, from an award winning installer. Authorized dealer of XPEL, i have knife marks all over my $110,000 vehicle and edges that are not layed down collecting dirt. I wish I never even got it installed at all.
ОтветитьI can buy a roll of film of PPF for $20
ОтветитьWhere are you guys located? Contact info please?
ОтветитьNo different than installing a graphics kit on your dirtbike. Regardless of who installs it, the whole PPF thing is still way over priced imo.
Ответитьwhy wouldn't you tell us about the slip solution ratio?
ОтветитьIf you messed up, you’re screwed 😂and money down on the toilet 😂
ОтветитьHmm... do it myself, or trust a guy who can't put on a baseball cap to do it...
ОтветитьFire the editor of this video.
ОтветитьFor a few hundred dollars, definitely not worth doing it myself and I am a DIYer. This requires skills that a professional has that we mere mortals do not. They do it day in and day out. A once in a while DIYer for the most part would get really frustrated and possibly damage the paint by cutting it. Again not worth it. Leave it to the pros. Great video!
Ответить😂😂😂 $1500 for some plastic film get out of here 🤣
ОтветитьWow, this is soo freaking cringe. Seriously anyone can do this themselves with practice. Don’t start with an expensive pre cut kit, You can buy xpel by the foot for way cheaper and practice or buy a cheaper film to practice with. Successfull people are rarely successful on the first try and this is no different. If you want to PPF your car you are most definitely going to be doing it again in the future and on multiple cars you may own. It is worth learning how to do and you don’t need to pay these people thousands of dollars. I was raised to always be learning new skills no matter how big or small. The more things a person can do for themselves the greater the gratification and money you will make or save.
ОтветитьI will show you the bill and the photos, using the same product with 5 year warranty whole car not just parts for $500, just FYI everyone the prices in the usa are crazy even from there website
ОтветитьReally funny “not going to give away our secrets” lol there are actual diy videos all over showing “the secrets” used. Its an ounce of shampoo and the alcohol used is high percent not rubbing alcohol but 80 percent or 90 percent plus distilled water. Such secrets. Installing ppf is a dream vs regular printed and laminated wraps where its all done dry. With the liquid you have unlimited time to complete the job. The rookie rushed it but it takes a diy much longer but will get the job he wants done eventually and i sell the product and install it. If you do a good job and not charge too much money you do not need secrets because customers will hunt you down for your work.
ОтветитьMy pre cut film cost less than 100.
ОтветитьI did it myself. Lots of mistakes. Did it over. More mistakes. Finally finished it as is. I learnt a lot
ОтветитьYou realize a professional ones had to start off as a rookie you learn as you go along, so yeah anybody can do it with practice
ОтветитьEverybody can do with themselves with practice stop going to these scumbags who rip you off paint protection film is very cheap but they want to charge you $3000 to do a hood. Get the fuck out of here.
ОтветитьVery main problem the DIY guys faced is the film not sticking in the curved corners even he applied a lot of alcohol solution, which I had faced when I tried it myself, and you guys didn't even answered it
ОтветитьWhat a joke.
ОтветитьI do PPF on Cadillacs and Chevrolets every day. The HDs are the true test of an installer's grit. Doing the full hoods and fenders is GOOD MONEY. I love doing those.
Ответитьشكرا 😊
ОтветитьInsane he wants us to believe that’s actually what he’ll charge 😂
Ответитьthose prices are crazy......$450 for 1 front bumper piece of plastic film LOL....
ОтветитьIf everyone did it themselves, how would you guys keep the lights on? My point being, i dont think this video was necessary 😂
ОтветитьThe protective film industry is a rip-off. They prey on the fact this takes skill to apply correctly, as well as a decnt amount of paint cleaning and prep. There is no way the materials cost as much as what's charged. Im betting the $1500 price here costs expel under $300 to make/ acquire , cut and package. Im also betting dealers/ installers pay less than the list price, but charge the customer that price on top of the labor they quote without telling customers.
ОтветитьNow I watch the pro and know how to do it thanks
ОтветитьSomeone reply if they ever had their entire front end installed by a licensed shop for $247 labor.
ОтветитьThis guy is such a douche bag in the comments.
ОтветитьWow, didn't know the DIY guy was a straight up bafoon! Or well, I guess that's what you guys made him look like in your video
ОтветитьWalker Ronald Harris Mary Smith Michael
ОтветитьSlip solution is typically 2.5ml of johnson's baby shampoo (best) or 1.25 ml of dawn dish soap into about 997ml of distilled or RO water to make a full litre of solution. Tack solution is 250ml of 70% IPA with 750ml of RO/DI water to make a litre of tack solution.
I agree that having a pro install is best especially for a long-lasting quality finish. It's hard to DIY this, knowing where to tack edges, how to deal with issues. If the car you are protecting is expensive, spend the money on a good PPF install and forget about it for the next decade.
Guarantee this guy can't change a toilet
ОтветитьGreat Video! Thank you 🔥👏💪🫶
ОтветитьSooo what did we learn today ? Aaron is a witch.
Ответитьcalling urself a profesional and not even cutting in bulk is just crazy
ОтветитьA couple hundred difference? Not sure here in California, I will find out soon. But yes, I see a difference between pro and amateur
ОтветитьThis is clear satire...
Obviously stacking the deck against the new guy versus the pro. It should be obvious to everyone that a pro is going to do a better job than John Doe. The real comparison should be with a mechanically inclined individual who works on his own vehicle and not somebody in your shop to exclude bias. I have done small wraps on a-pillars, lights, etc without issue. However I would hesitate to wrap my entire Jeep.
You lose nothing by sharing the slip solution mixture😏
ОтветитьBS.......Well first of all .......what he says about the price YOU will pay for material is absolutely untrue..you can buy quality DIY complete pre cut kits for WAY less tan what he says ...which is totally uncool if you ask me..... For just one example I got a complete bumper kit for my Tesla Plaid X from amazon for just 79.00....
ОтветитьWhere can I just buy a roll of ppf?
ОтветитьIs there gold in the film. Good lord that shit is expensive
ОтветитьIt’s bs ngl before any diy people should do their research and take time researching and learning a bit then you should be good, it’s not surgery dang it !
Saw a short where they quoted a guy 9,000$
I'm a professional windows tinter and ppf installer + stickers full body working at dubai
Ответитьtypical shop scare tactics
Ответить****************************************
Good Morning, are you guys located in Dallas / DFW area? (for PPF)
****************************************
Hiring a pro is certainly a valid decision to make. It would be good if you shared what you pay for the PPF which is certainly not the retail price on the web site which is between 2 to 3 times the wholesale price.
