Spray water from la Roche posay and avene is for people with severe skin sensitivity who get irritated by tap water and the fluoride and chlorine I think. It’s meant to wash your face with or dilute the tap water on your skin? I’m not 100% clear on it, but the Evian one isn’t beneficial, and neither is spraying it on top of makeup 🤦♀️
ОтветитьYall should come to East Tennessee and teach these people some things, the powers that be make low waste darn near impossible, it's so agitating.
ОтветитьYes to people asking over and over if you need a bag. I said no damn it hahha This just happened to me visiting family in Massachusetts at the grocery store
ОтветитьThat bag comment, Haha yes, I work in retail and I wait for them to ask if they want one. But sometimes someone will get a bag for one thing, like a boxed gift set, some are so big that only one box will fit in the bag... it makes me so mad.
ОтветитьI've been told that once a host staff or waiter/waitress puts an item down on the table, due to health codes and such, they can't take it back. I see a lot of utensils are stainless steel but wrapped around a paper napkin. So when I pull my own utensils out and set the other resturant ones aside it drives my friend nuts and I'm like. I'm not using their paper napkin or straw.
ОтветитьI work at a restaurant and we are sort of trained to ask them if they want a bag. I don't get it either. We also have to supply togo orders with plastic utensils
ОтветитьLove you both! Very late to the party, as it were, but I'm subbed to both your channels and I enjoy binge watching and putting your advice into practice. Now, whenever I'm at the shop, I always think "Would Shelbizzle/Sustainably Vegan/other eco you tubers buy this product?" It really does help if I'm imagining Shelbizzle anti-hauling the product that I'm interested in! xx
Ответитьif the bag has their logo on it, it's advertising for their company. so of course they're gonna be pushy about it.
ОтветитьI just want to say that it's easier to carry things in a bag than in a box. Your point still stands, but that may be the reason.
Also if something is wrapped in plastic it's less likely to stain your bag if it leak.
My mother always wrapped plastik around jars with soup or bottles with sth especially if she new there were leaky (fortunately we have lots of them and reuse)
Oh, wasteful thing I just noticed. When I was going to school my dad made my sandwiches and put them in plastic one-use-only bags...
Kinda ashamed of myself that I didn't noticed it before. Now I have box for it.
The little plastic bottle that they give in Sephora to sample their perfumes. I used to get many thinkin I was so slick but now I bought a perfume I love and that lasts.
ОтветитьI bring to-go containers with me to restaurants. The servers are always excited when they find out.
Ответитьoooh boy.... don't go to japan. I went to a convenience store to buy a box of chocolate almonds and they double bagged it. so infuriating
ОтветитьI have a few claw machine toys I keep around because a close friend of mine who passed away last year use to treat me to Denny’s often and every trip to Denny’s we would use the claw machine in the lobby and see what we could win , they definitely are sentimental to me and I’m very glad I kept them around .
ОтветитьWhen you have had something from a claw machine for 11 years...
ОтветитьThat thumb nail thooooo
ОтветитьI'm so grateful to live in a state that has banned plastic bags & restricted access to all single use plastics.
ОтветитьWow watching this in 2020...but enjoyed it so much...2 of my favorite activist I LOVE IT 💚
ОтветитьI’m from the UK and the last time I was in America the waitress looked at me like I had two heads when I told her I didn’t need my drink refilled 😂 like I still had half my glass of cola left why do I need another full one 🤷🏻♀️ let me finish the one Iv got. Sometimes they didn’t even ask and another one was just put on the table so it’s a waste if I wasn’t going to drink it.
ОтветитьI still have my little toy I won from the grabby machine when I was younger 😂 - it’s actually the only toy I still have from my childhood. But it has a lot of memories attached and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to throw it away. I can understand why its wasteful for most other people though! 😝
ОтветитьA bartender in the UK went to get me a straw for my drink. He had barely touched it, before I realised and said no thank you. He then picked it up fully and chucked it in the bin. Urgh next time ask first, what a waste! If he was going to chuck it anyway, I would have used it. So stupid
ОтветитьFor a while there was a trend in Australia where they had "fancy" sprays for your hair. Literally just floral tea in a plastic spritzer 😑
ОтветитьMy two favorite vloggers unite! Yeah!!
Ответитьi can’t believe i’ve never seen this ! lol about the ironing thing though, you can actually place a few drops of essential oil mixed with water into your iron. as long as it’s not thick, it’s completely fine !
ОтветитьHaving lived in both the US and the UK this was really entertaining😂
ОтветитьOn the flip side for the take out point, In Japan, you usually can't get take-out. If you have leftovers and want to take them home to prevent food waste (and you have your own container and another meal) is frowned upon.
At least in the US you can use your own container without this sense of embarrassment or negative looks :(
Who the fuck buys scented ironing water 😂😂 that’s so pointless
ОтветитьI have a toy claw piggy and I wanted it so bad cuz it was so cute but I was holding up the line trying to get it so I walked away.
Then I saw a man win that piggy and my heart was smashed but then he did this little spin and gave me that pig and I still have it over 15 years later.
I'll never forget you Dave and Busters sunglasses man.
But yeah a lot of times they are cheap but surprisingly that was a quality cute small pig toy
I’m already angry and we’re not even 5 min in lol
ОтветитьThe iron water is deionised so doesn't cause limescale build up in the iron
ОтветитьTo be fair, bags are super helpful with the styrofoam to-go containers since those easily open and make a disaster in the car.
ОтветитьPlanned obsolescence, great term, made me thinking. Keep spreading the good mindset, girls!
ОтветитьI am British but live in the US. The ironing spray is really what was traditionally called linen spray. The traditional linen spray was just water with lavender or Citrus peel soaked in it. It is designed to repel moths and bugs from sheets and other linens not for clothing really. possibly in Elizabethan times on underclothes which were also linen. I use the lavender sachets nowadays as I live in Louisiana and we have some bugs lol.
ОтветитьTo been honest I'm really good at taking toys out of those claw machines. Must of them I donate but I have one that is my sons favorite and has been for years.
ОтветитьUK barbecue is US grill
ОтветитьMore collaboration videos!! I'd love to learn about wasteful practices in different cultures, that is SUPER interesting!
ОтветитьI have a chaw toy stuff animal from ten years ago that i still love to this day i think why i love it so much is bc that was the only one that my parents have let me get. it also has a weird but intresting story
ОтветитьHahhaha both of you are great!!! This is such a fun and informative video.
ОтветитьThose claw machine toys are more sentimental in my opinion because of the memories of the experience that are attached to it. Like someone could give you a random teddy for a birthday and it's just like meaningless. But the whole memory of going somewhere with someone and having a good time and winning a teddy makes it far more special. Something you want to hold onto because of those good times.
ОтветитьI don't snack too much but my favourite chips used to be the prawn cocktail from Walkers. I remember when I first went to the UK, I found these '1 big bag with 6 tiny' bags inside cool because it looked so cute but... why? it is so wasteful
Ответить"ironing water" is distilled water which doesn't damage/degrade the iron over time. Tap water will cause rust and stain clothes because of the minerals in the water and hard water areas (full of chalk) causes a build up of limescale. So it has a purpose, but mainly because you can't easily buy distilled water any more. I think it used to be around when I was a kid
Ответитьim so thankful that the toys i have from claw machines carry memories and i just have them and cherish them
ОтветитьI haven’t used plastic bottles in years.
Ответитьgoing along with the kid/toy thing..I think about the amount of happy meal toys, cereal box toys, etc. that are just crappy pieces of plastic that a kid will most likely lose after a few minutes 😡😡
Ответить✋🏼 I still have a toy from one of those toy machines but only because it genuinely looks like my husband. I got it when we were dating and I thought it was so funny & now our toddler plays with it.
ОтветитьSuch a great video! It's funny because I rarely got anything from the claw machines, but the two things I have one, I kept - one for the memories of having finally got something and the other because it became useful for my chronic pain (and I still had the memories). I'm not a huge fan of the claw machines, but I wish people would at least keep the things they win for longer than they typically do and donate them once they don't want them any more (eg. donating stuffed toys to a children's charity or something). To be fair, though, claw machines aren't super common in most places in England, except arcades (which tend to be in seaside towns), so I can't imagine most people don't come across them more than once or twice a year - which is at least something.
ОтветитьLOL, I get really passionate or irritated by these sort of stupid wastefully things that people do Or shops try to market, 🙄🤔 I am really dumb- founded by it. 😁😘🤔 Australia
ОтветитьI know this is a super late comment but:
Those single-use grills, they are a huge problem in Denmark imo. People will use their grill on the beach and then dig it down in the sand while it's still hot. There's been a number of reports on kids getting burnt by them.
How about a toy claw machine where you grab a toy and if you get the toy, you decide if you return it back to the machine or not. (Kind of like returning your rented things)
