Takefusa Kubo (久保 建英) is an 18 year old Japanese footballer who is signed by Real Madrid and is now on a season-long loan at RCD Mallorca. Kubo has played for the Japanese national team from U-15 to the senior level. At only 15 years of age, he was selected by the Japan U-20 national team to represent them at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. At 17 years old, Kubo was chosen to be one of the players on the senior squad for the 2019 Copa America and made his debut before the tournament on June 9, 2019 during a friendly match against El Salvador. Takefusa Kubo is now one of the key players and is becoming the face of the Japanese national team.
