That grey tho
Ответитьfor me beige is the color for a serious computer.
ОтветитьIt would be better If they actually made a different design from nowdays rubberdomes. Its exactly the same besides the color, and they still boast that it was projected in germany everywhere on the box and on the labels. They could at least make it a dome with slider keyboard like those really good rubber domes from that time.
ОтветитьI miss the old windows interfaces and windows logo..
ОтветитьEven though I have and prefer more gaming oriented peripherals, the key switches in that keyboard sound SUPER GOOD. This keyboard sounds way softer and “smoother” then the Cherry MX Blue switches in my current keyboard. It also looks really nice, giving that nostalgic and modern feeling, without the boring/harsh look of black (even with RGB LED keys). Overall very nice! Mouse looks super cool too.
ОтветитьI use an older, black version of that mouse that I found at a junk shop years ago. It's pretty good
ОтветитьI love the keyboard reviews. Although not just a keyboard, would you ever review a Raspberry Pi 400 with its built-in keyboard?
ОтветитьSorry man, but i must say this. That euro ad was the gayest thing of 2000's that I have ever seen.
ОтветитьIronically, the German layout version of this board is currently sold out... bummer.
The color scheme is a bit eccentric for sure... not only would the numpad 0 on an original two-tone board have been light-colored as mentioned, the Windows keys would have been grey as well.
If what you need is a US or UK layout in bicolor, you are comparatively spoilt for choice, as good quality keycap sets for standard layouts of Cherry MX and compatible keyswitches are readily available... an overall much more expensive affair than this Perixx board, mind you.
Apple is bringing white back
ОтветитьThis keyboard pretty similar to the saitek 2? Minus the lights
ОтветитьI don't know why I find this keyboard so appealing but I do...definitely going to pick one up to try it out.
ОтветитьThey probably made the zero key gray so they didn't have to make a beige double wide key by itself. Otherwise the other double wide keys are all gray.
ОтветитьLooks like Lindy Beige’s computer. :D
Ответить"the mouse is too light" e sports players: rEeEeEeEe
ОтветитьNice little combo set, I'm still using a 20year old PS2 Dell keyboard with the wavy windows logo. Still types nicely.
ОтветитьEuro on the 5 and not the 4? Or is it different in the US?
ОтветитьOh no.
ОтветитьI remember these beige keyboards as a kid. Who's a 80s born babies and used to go to the computer lab at school to work with these keyboards❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьPerixx makes great stuff and they have a huge product lineup.
ОтветитьThis keyboard may or may not be a rebranded Keytronic Ergoforce. This is the same keyboard that was also sold as the Das Keyboard Mk. 1, which is essentially this in black with blank keycaps. It’s known for being one of the best traditional rubber dome membrane keyboards. As far as I know the Ergoforce is no longer produced with a PS/2 plug, although I have a 106B and I love it even though I’m usually a mechanical keyboard guy.
ОтветитьWow! Even in the 70's people said less when they should have said fewer. I don't remember that.
ОтветитьSome gamers actually like a super light mouse. 😂
ОтветитьAfter three weeks of use, I love this keyboard. I make fewer typos with this one. I also have an ASUS Flare mechanical and I can't type on it. I spend more time fixing typos than actually typing in the first place. Maybe it turns out I'm a membrane kind of typist. You owe it to yourselves to try it. I used IBM keyboards, and some of its better imitators, back in the 80s before we started getting computers with cheaper boards. This has the layout, but it doesn't at all feel like an IBM. IBM's were brutes, this is delicate.
ОтветитьIf this Keyboard do not yellow down over the next two years, then it is no way near the originals. Every-Computer-Relevant-Perepherals has to become dirty nicotine yellow to be original!
ОтветитьIve bought this to use specifically with the A500 mini, would love to replace the Windows keys with Amiga keys
Ответитьlol kian egan in the ad
ОтветитьI just bought the same keyboard and went to look for a review, to find I bought the same mouse! Amazing review!
ОтветитьI remember a time where silver and sapphire coloured keyboard peripherals were also sold inbetween the transition from two tone beige and gray to black peripherals.
Ответитьactually, intel still sells refreshes of their classic intelliwheel, on the original hardware and everything. Found that out while looking for a used original. used was still cheaper, but online reviews seem to indicate that the refresh is about as durable, reliable, and satisfying as the classic.
ОтветитьEverything white from last decade turning a ugly piss yellow is probably why we switched to black mostly
ОтветитьI just have got one of it. The overall look is great, but sadly the keyboard is not a good one. The keys need to be pressed almost till the end of the stroke, to be detected. Only the collapse of the rubber dome is not sufficient to close the electric contact between the membranes. If you don't push deeply, many keystrokes are not detected. Therefore the keyboard is not suitable for a serious use, as main keyboard for typing. The keys make also a very plastic sound, like that of cheap keyboards. The good thing is that the keys are laser printed and are made of PB plastic, but due to the issue with the keystroke, it is only a decorative keyboard.
The Cherry G83-6105 is the last really good beige keyboard existing, with high profile keys and very good typing feeling. Though it has its flaws, I will continue with it.
I love these old keyboards, I have mods that make these rubber dome boards feel mechanical with solid bottom outs, as well as using grease to decrease rattle. Not many mechanical switches come close to the tactility of a good rubber dome.
ОтветитьI bought this keyboard a few months ago, it is very nice.
ОтветитьI just bought the Periboard and the EXACT same Microsoft mouse, and then right after buying it, this is recommended to me. Great video!
ОтветитьThanks for putting this review video together. It's nice to find affordable brand new gear in old school styling.
ОтветитьIf they made a Model M lookalike with cherry or alps clicky switches I'd be all over that. I love my model M but disassembly and servicing is a pain in the arse because of how finicky reassembly of buckling spring switches is.
ОтветитьWhich keyboard was the like a new car smelling one ?
ОтветитьBTW, the IBM model M actually uses a rubber dome, not a mechanical switch. However, the dome is activated via a bucking spring, and that makes all the difference in the world as for tactile feedback, sound, and activation pressure. Many people refer to the model M as a mechanical keyboard, but that is only half true. Even so called mechanical keyboards, often have non mechanical switches that use optical, or magnetic (hall effect) devices.
ОтветитьJimmy Carter!!! 😀
Thaks for the review, I miss a lot old times keyboard design. I'm sick of black keyboards, mouses, screens and computers.
I would love to see someone put Alps or Matias switches in this keyboard
ОтветитьI bought one of these keyboards a couple of years ago partly due to nostalgia and partly because i was tired of the modern black / grey types available today. It's a wonderful keyboard for the price. I love it.
ОтветитьListen to any news story within the past fifty years and we soon realize that basically nothing has changed other than the names and the usual suspects.
ОтветитьThe word "value creator" has a similar meaning to me as "content creator".
ОтветитьThere is a mouse called the "Cherry USB mouse," it looks quite old by modern standards but it still has a beige colorway and it still being manufactured and sold to this day unlike the microsoft mouse.
it may not be as ergonomic but it's still being made and still comes with a PS/2 adapter without being too cheaply made. it costs about $15 too. and yes it's that cherry, the ones who make keyboard switches, they make good quality rubber dome keyboards too. the cherry stream is quite a nice keyboard that could fit in with retro computers, but it's more like an early 2k's laptop keyboard.
Looks exactly like IBM KB-8923 (Chicony) from ~1996. This PERIBOARD-106 M is beautiful 90-s style affordable keyboard
ОтветитьIn this video, you have some footage of unboxing a square (silver) badge IBM Model M keyboard. Do you have that video available on your channel?
ОтветитьBrings to mind the IBM Model M2 and the Dell QuietKey. Not bad!
If nothing else I'm pleased to see more beige and gray being manufactured at a low price. Might be worth grabbing as a generic keyboard for random old clone PCs.
