Cost of Living in Arizona 2024

We are planning to move to Bullhead City, hopefully next year. We have relatives in the Phoenix areas and it’s way too hot for me unless I can escape to the water. I’ve been researching all of Arizona and I don’t seem to find any other towns that have homes close to water except in the Western part of Arizona. I would love it if you could do a video on places to live in Arizona that are near a reliable water source. Your videos are well done and very informative.

APS is one the biggest expenses you will pay in Arizona. Gas prices and property taxes is high too.

Social Security is taxed

It depends what area you live in, many of these smaller communities have pretty cheap land, moderate taxes outside of tourist areas and the essentials are similar across the region. I'm between Prescott and Flag and housing is fairly cheap while essentials are very similar except fuel which, other than in Ca Az is fairly high.
Local taxes can be crazy, especially in Chino Valley, the local tax is close to 9% if I remember correctly.

Gas is going down and my taxes are low, but the tax for purchasing items are insane. The cost to renew your car is wayy over priced.

we moved to las vegas after careful consideration. AZ was our first choice, but we didnt like the extreme weather situations there along with valley fever. Cost of living here is high now. Rents are high too. Bad healthcare which is about the same in AZ. HOA's here in north vegas and many parts of vegas are strict . Even Pahrump (of all places) have HOA homes now. Nevada is good on some taxes but they get you in other ways. Ca has turned into a sh@thole. Glad we moved out of there.

I brought it up within a couple of months that there is no reason that the low income population have to give taxes on their income when they can’t afford to eat the basic food for a full month even after working 2-3 jobs! Our government is currently giving $10 million per day of our hard earned tax money which is going directly to the Amalek fund which kills indigenous populations around the world, and bonus $14.3 billion more every couple of years to commit the textbook genocides. It doesn’t make sense. We need this money, our children need this money, so they don’t become homeless here in the States.

Hey in CT you have to pay for heat like oil or gas etc as well as much higher electric rates and groceries have sky rocketed in price here so the north east is no better

Also no transportation in the middle of CT, gas is $3 a gallon, and you can’t see a specialist for months here

Car insurance is more for us in CT than when we were in AZ. Taxes on property are triple what we paid in AZ. 😢

Why are your eggs and milk still high in AZ? Ours went down a couple a months ago in NV, Cage free are 3.00ish and milk is 3 or 4.

We’re has a income tax that is actually quite high. They do not have sales tax, but their property taxes are also quite high.

Planning to move to Green Valley in Pima County. I’m retired (no income wages) and will pay cash for a house in low to mid $200’s, which can be done. From what I’ve seen, property taxes are around $100 a month, HOA could be $0-$300 a month depending on what you buy and where. Social Security is not taxed in AZ but IRA or 401k distributions are but only at 2.5% state tax. That is not bad at all if you’re just taking the minimal distribution. Sales tax is high, so I won’t buy much or buy used on Marketplace and garage sales. Electric bill might be high but I won’t be there in summers. Gas is gas… that price has gone down all around the country. I live in Mexico, am a permanent resident and will go to Mexico in the summers when it’s unbearable in AZ. I’ll drive my Mx plated car to AZ and not worry about registering it there. I’ll go to Nogales for some food shopping, hair cuts, dental and some doctor visits though I do have Medicare in the states. Green Valley is 40 miles to Nogales and 30 miles to Tucson. I believe I can easily live on my SS and IRA distribution or about $3,200 a month (because I will not have rent or mortgage payments.) Great location for me!! Seems ok to me!

why would you buy a condo that is cost 2400 a month???? why would you rent in north scottsdale??? no wonder you're in trouble. Arizona is dirt cheap to live just live in the right spots. Sell that condo, and stay out of north scottsdale.

I make less than 20k a year! I get an IRS notice saying I owe them several thousand and me thinking they're for the poor, get rudely taken advantage of when they send me more formal letters demanding explanation, proofs, etc., because I state I can't pay. They like cruel landlords, for real, but harder to fight in court because they're the gov. I mean how do really poor people deal with IRS? The IRS is against humanity, saying the truth, they want people to go live on the streets homeless, sell drugs, and join violent gangs. They want an uprising!

We were just in the Phoenix area this past weekend and we love it. Gas is way cheaper than here in California. We're at almost 5$ a gallon here in the Central Valley. Arizona is way better then Cali.

The coast of living is insane in Arizona I lived there for 20 years had to leave the pay as a welder isn’t keeping up the the raising coast but I heard if your a Mexican it’s cheaper for you then if your white and they always hire a Mexican before a white person my opinion of Arizona is it will go to hell pretty soon and all the California people moving there is turning it democrat fuck Arizona it fast turning in to a shit hole
