I talk with Chris Fredrickson, Co-Founder of Traverse City Whiskey about the company's early beginnings and its steady growth over the past 9 years. TC Whiskey has big plans for a new production facility, tasting room, rackhouse, and eventually a full immersion experience where guests will be able to stay on-site. Chris also explains what their moniker "The Whiskey of the North" means to them and plans for the upcoming new releases in 2020 that they are calling "The Finishing Series". With family history dating back three generations, an idea was birthed in 2011 between three friends that led to some award winning whiskey. Known as ‘The Whiskey of the North,’ Traverse City Whiskey Co. is an award-winning craft whiskey brand located in upstate Michigan, recipients of the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition “Best Small Batch Bourbon” for its Barrel Proof expression. In early 2020, the brand will release its new Finishing Series, that can be found in all states in which they distribute, as well as their two whiskey tasting rooms in Traverse City and Detroit (Ferndale). The brand also looks forward to breaking ground on a new production facility later this year.
