Lewis and Clark's story deserves it's own multiple hour episode. It's an absolutely amazing story. It's incredible how fate had a role in getting them all back alive.
Stephen Ambrose's book "Undaunted Courage" is an excellent source. As is the actual journals who are available for free online. It's a tough read but once you get the hang of it is fantastic.
