You know what this showed you...? That both do well with their perspective drive train classes. And, both look to be great cars for their purpose. I would have a hard time choosing. IMO, visually the Honda looks to market a younger group with its over the top styling, and Ford is trying to play it in the middle for its global market push. I would probably choose the Ford RS based on looks, & the flexibility an AWD system would allow. Now, if I had $ to waste, both would a good options too! Lol.

nobody in there right mind would folk out 30k for a car thats a second faster and awd there has to be more ticks in the box for instant im looking at both cars the ford second faster awd but the interior is dreadfull and just looks a bit nath front ends a bit better but everything else i dont know the honda in my opinion looks better interior miles better looks like a hot hatch should forget about dsg gearbox ext maybe faster but dull as hell and takes all enjoyment out of driving its the ford or honda for me but finding it hard to choose both cars enjoyment to drive hmmmm

Rolling 40mph and TYPE R will rape RS.

if type r had 350 hp (310hp at wheels) the typer would win cause of power to weight. and would dominate the golf R at the track, if honda would finally do 4 wheel drive it would win even more.

Its not a shit start , how can you see the real power of the honda if you put it against a AWD CAR , i've had the type r brilliant car , and in my country we go rolling start to see which car is faster , i raced the golf 7R and i can proudly say its much faster on a rolling start , right till top speed , so i can say proudly again , the focus RS has no chance with the type r if its doing a rolling drag race! The Type R power to weight is brilliant , i really think it would give a the A45 or Rs3 a hard time if they went rolling start! Would be nice to see

I love how Vw fans go on about the clubsport s being faster on track , when vw had to go and remove seats and put rollcages and a dsg gearbox to beat the type r lol!

The focus was always faster, ever since the mk1 RS days. More grunt, better engine. Having said that I'd bet the honda would be far more reliable

Why do a drag race with 4 wheel vs front wheel, physics tell you which is going to win. Why not race them round a track and see which is faster, am sure the civic would come first, or perhaps a rolling start

a good hot hatch is meant to be decent at everything thrown it's way... driving on road, economy, track and drag. A little bit of everything.

Both are great cars, but is unfair to compare a AWD and a FWD.

The Driver isn't at fault here. It's fwd vs awd. The Civic has a better power to weight ratio that's why it was catching up at the end if they both start at about 15-20 mph and floor it the Civic would win
