Age of Empires IV Walkthrough - Norman Campaign - 10. Second Battle of Lincoln (Hard Difficulty)

So, I'm sure we all saw the news the other day :) Age of Mythology is getting a definitive edition! Which means eventually more AoM content on my channel as well as a day 1 campaign stream on release!

Anyway, this is the final level of the Norman campaign the Second Battle of Lincoln. Our first goal is to defend the castle for 6 minutes by training longbowmen and putting them on the walls as well as getting our keep upgrades (armor clad, network of citadels etc). We also want to get the relic close to our future base for passive gold generation early on. With the timer around one minute left, send your villagers west so you get your town center a little earlier as William Marshall arrives.

Once you have defended for 6 minutes you will get a contingent of knights as well as hero William Marshall whose ability raises movement speed and attack of knights around him. With this force as well as the archers and men-at-arms you have trained proceed to destroy the armies surrounding the military buildings. Collect the chests for good resources too. You only need to destroy the objective buildings you can spare the others and even use the enemy market for trading if you wish although it's not necessary.

Once the buildings are destroyed move your army south to hold off any French attacks that might happen while you build up an economy. Your task is to build an army and destroy 2 French encampments. Going to the imperial age and getting the Wynguard Palace is a good way to help with Trebuchet production as well as getting the enclosures upgrade for your farms and extra gold production. Don't forget the elite upgrades for your units as well as the blacksmith and arsenal upgrades. You will want an army of men-at-arms, trebuchets, and longbowmen. Try to also build forward bases if you can so your reinforcement times are much shorter. This level isn't really hard, and it gives you all the time in the world. Once you destroy both encampments you win and get to enjoy a nice ending cutscene to the campaign!
