Quick trenchless installation: 200 mm water pipe in Poland with MEMPEX 70 tons pulling force machine

CASE STUDY:

The construction task for the Łodz city water management company was difficult:

• Extremely restrained conditions for the installation of water supply pipeline
• The 200 mm PE pipe has to pass under the road between two closely located buildings
• The use of excavation method was impossible, because trenches could carry over the foundations of the buildings
• The use of sheet piling to contain the walls of the pit was also impossible: between the two buildings there was no place for the piling machine; plus vibration and noise would be intolerable

The solution customized and supplied by MEMPEX.BY (in collaboration with our Polish dealer NODIGMARKET24.COM) was smart, advantageous, quick, and cost-effective:

• To manage the pit and ensure minimal excavations, we used our modular hydraulicly powered collapsible and self-elevating shoring system OR-1.5
• Our Ground Piercing & Pipe Jacking Machine MNBL-70 (Dry Compaction Tech), having officially 77 tons of pulling force, was warmed up to 80 tons effort, which allowed to pull the new 200 mm PE pipe at once, without any preliminary reaming!
