Nice video! Let me add that sub tones can be used with this app. Once you edit the channel, you can go to RecvsubAudio and select CTCSS instead of Wave, then you can select your chosen subtone. The same applies to SendsubAudio. Cheers!

I've also been looking at the Ulefone Armor 3T , and it appears as if the app for the radio is identical from the videos. I'm thinking of going with this phone due to all the issues I've seen with the BV 9500 pro. I haven't seen a single one from the Armor 3T yet.

Hopefully we can eventually get custom software for the radio function on these phones. That would be bangin. Scanner app, SDR, maybe text directly from phone to phone if someone has the radio function. That would be killer. It appears as if the Doogee S80 has the chat / text feature ( my wife plans on getting this phone late February ).

I'm curious to know if the radio works without any cell or internet signal. Can this truly be used as a stand alone radio?

Thanks alot man! Hey is there any info on the range with this phone? I actually thought when I bought it online through the campaign,that it was a direct connect feature that could be used,like the old-school Nextel phone,but would be digital. I hope I get my garage as organized as yours one day😀

Just an FYI, there have been several lower end mobile phone/analog radio combinations sold for a little while now. There is also the Boxchip S700 for around $700. It does analog and confirmed DMR Tier I and II. Boxchip has been very responsive to customers and is constantly updating their app and adding features suggested by users and fixing reported bugs. Repeater ROM (??) has already produced an early release ROM for the phone. It automatically programs the radio based upon GPS coordinates and a database of analog and DMR repeaters. There are also VHF mobile phone walkie talkies available. None, however, seem to be dual band in these lower to mid tier phones.

CallMeColt. I noticed that you have been active on Blackview's support forum. Did they ever clear up the CTCSS and DCS issue? Are they programmable in the app? Also, have you asked if this walkie talkie supports DMR? If so, does it support Tier II? If it does support Tier II, is there a place to change the Time Slot (1 or 2)?

So I have been trying to research this phone and different sites are giving me conflicting info, maybe you can help clear this up for me: Is this Dual-Band (VHF/UHF) or just (UHF)?

Decent walkthrough just want to clear somethings up though, FRS can ONLY be used with FRS radios (non detachable antennas, low power, non programmable), grms can have detachable antennas, but still not programmable. It does have higher power though. Best of luck getting your license as well, the ham radio crash course channel would be a good source or feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
